$15.80 per HP is a really good deal! Enjoy.

Personally I just can't risk voiding the extended warranty on this car.

I see there is a hand held auto flasher available and an android flasher. Can we purchase this from our local dealer also, or do we have to order online? I'm in DC.

Thanks

I've been waiting for my warranty to run out and it just expired. Time for a tune!! What do I need to do in the OKC area?

Ordered it straight from Jeremy at OE Tuning. I won't be able to test it for a while since I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow but I will when I get back.

E550 2010
tuned

I installed the OE tune a week or two ago (NA E550).

It is a noticeable improvement, especially in the lower gears. Shifts are a bit more noticeable at times (probably from higher rpm shifts).
The car still hunts for 7th gear, but a bit less so with the tune.

Mileage, I was skeptical to see improvements but I think I'm getting 1mpg better.

Only downside I noticed was that given the increased throttle sensitivity Distronic has become a bit more aggressive during acceleration. Not a big deal, just figured I'd point it out.

Have any of the tuned vehicles used the Sprintbooster prior to tuning? Any significant difference?

Great to see you are enjoying the tune too!

We can tune to accommodate Sprint Booster, but a Sprint Booster is not necessary as throttle response is modified by our tune.

I understand that. I asked if the tuned members, who had installed a sprintbooster prior to the tune, felt any significant difference between the 2.

Ok. We rarely see Sprint Booster customers as the tune does the same thing
BTW, Sprint Booster does not add any more power, just fools the throttle signal to the ECU for a more aggressive throttle feel.

I understand that, as well. I was hoping to hear a throttle response/feel comparison between the two products from anyone having owned/used both.

Thank you for the explanations, though. OE Tuning has a great customer service system in place. That is a great trait for a business to possess.

^^Sprint boosters are great, don't get me wrong Ben. Also, I know I'm not answering the question you originally asked either as unfortunately I haven't been able to compare the two.

However, the sprint booster tricks the ECU into thinking you are giving it more gas than you really are, that's all it does. The difference with the tune is that the tune actually completely remaps the way the ECU picks up throttle input. Stock when you press down about half way on the throttle, you will feel the car SLOWLY building up power, that's because the throttle is opening at a slow and steady pace to maintain smoothness. After the tune, the throttle opens instantly thus you get a sudden burst of power rather than gradually.

Just my $0.02

Ok I'm game....

Just picked up an 11 E550 4matic.

I'm in central NJ. Is there a place that can do this for me? Or do I need to order something and do it myself.

Let me know,

Thanks,

George

Here are the local flash dealer locations where you can have the tune installed: https://oetuning.com/onibi_storelocator/

Tested the 1st gear launch last week and what a freaking difference once the torque limiters were removed.

With traction control off the car peels out sideways for a good few hundred feet. LOL!

What a transformation.

Yea I've been running my tune on a N/A 550 for a little over a week now. OMG, it's a different animal all together. Just a slight touch of the pedal now and this thing roars to life almost instantly. It takes a little bit to get used to the throttle response. Putting it in comfort mode now is like the pre-tuned sport mode. 1st gear launch from the pedals is nuts, this car is totally out of control without the traction control. If I could get traction and I have about 2 inches more tire than the stock sport units this thing would have a 0-60 in the mid to upper 4's. It's just plain stupid now!!

Oh and Kudo's to OE Tuning and thanks to Jeremy making this process easy and thanks for your help over the phone. You really can't beat this tune for the price backed by an excellent support crew.

I have had the sprintbooster and now I have the pedal box on my car, while they both do improve the throttle response I find that the car adapts itself after a while until I do a reset again. in addition I find that the throttle response is only noticeable when starting from stop, the sprintbooster/pedalbox don't add much when the car is already in motion so I am constantly using the paddle shifters to move the gears to 3 and 4.

To Jeremy, does this tune overcome the cars adaptive transmission capability?

for those who already have the tune, have you had to do a ECU reset at all?

Also Jeremy, saw on your website that you now offer the tune via android. is there any advantage having the Genius flash loader vs the android version.

If adaptations are reset, then adaptation we be relearned depending on driving style. Doing this will not erase the tune.

For those that own Android devices, the complete process is far easier and more convenient than the MyGenius. But the tune is still loaded regardless of the flash system used.
