While I cringe thinking of keeping up with 3 kids in car seats (we stopped at 2), I can totally appreciate the validation you get from this accomplishment. It wasn't too long ago that I needed two car seats. And it is completely satisfying when you get them in there rock solid. I remember leaning on them with my knee just to pull that strap another quarter inch tighter. If you don't break a sweat you're not doing it right.

It's nice to travel now and not need all that stuff. I do miss the old minivan though.

Congrats! We have 2, which seemed to get re-shuffled in different configurations in the GL every few months... hard work for sure to do it right.

And in an AMG car, even cooler lol.

Nice! I tried to do 3 last week but gave up after about an hour. Just could not fit 2 britax frontier 85 seats with full head protection and a booster all on the 2nd row. In the end I had to let my son and his best friend sit in the 3rd row. They loved it on the 2 hour drive. The other kids sat in the middle row in the two britax seats.
The 3rd row seats in the wagon do come in handy once in a while. :)

Seriously after getting them all in, my knees were scraped and sore, my back hurt and my wife was ready with a glass of lemonade... Was sweating my a$$ off...

Well done. Do you think you could get 3 Diono's in together instead of the infant seat?

Oh hell yeah! The radian is more narrow than that the chicco infant seat and they are designed well to have three identical radians in a row. I just wish Benz would put a LATCH in the middle seat as well... My mdx has that and it's priceless and seems like a cheap feature

Part of the pain in the ass of having buy-backs of two e550s was that dropping them off for loaners a hundred times made swapping car seats such a pia that it fueled my rage towards Mbusa and they heard about it each and vwery phone call

I finally just bought two extra car seats for all the loaners and forced mb dealership to install them each time I dropped the e550 off for another trans repair

So without latch UAS. How does the middle diono secure? Using the seat belt? Just curious. I just have the 1 diono in there now. The Suv has 2.... Don't think I'll need 3 in the E350. But don't hold me that just yet.

PeterUbers 07-10-2014 02:24 AM

The middle diono uses the Benz shoulder belt and rear deck tether. I've contemplated using extender links from then middle latches to let each seat "share" a latch, but the Benz belt works well

Thanks for clearing that up.
