I have the continental pro contacts in 245/40/18. So far I have about three tire repairs due to picking up nails and one blow out due to a sidewall failure. Luckily, I had gotten the road hazard warranty from discount tire/americas tire when I first got the car. They took care of me every time I bought the car in.

Conti Extreme Contact DWS is probably what I would do - but I am far away from getting new tires. Although I have already had one killed by a screw and another one is patched. Got to love DC roads :(.

So I have had this car for the last couple of years and the most frustrating thing has been the tires.
I have attached a photo of what keeps on happening( 3rd time in last 18 months). So everytime this happens I replace the left and right side of the tires Does anyone have recommendations for an alternate all season tire for this vehicle besides the OEM Pirellis? Please advise, Thanks |

My E350BT came with 18" Conti ProContact all seasons; these are MO or Mercedes Original approved tires. They perform well with no problems thus far (19,000 km).

Can you explain what we're looking at in this pic?

The big tire bubble in the sidewall, Mitch. That tire is toast.

A big bubbles |
Yes, that is a big bubble! Cast a shadow on the rim edge which threw me off. Yes tire is toast!!

it happened to me 6 times in 1 and a half year, its **** since tires are not that cheap.
So I went from 19in to 18in and it still happens.. so I concluded that the sporty models are alot stiffer and I will not put 17 or 16 wheels to avoid the issue. so I began my journey of cruising slow and it works on 19 and 18s, avoid messed up road, pot holes...etc |
