Help! 19's or 20's on a 12 E550?

I just purchased a 2012 E550 (obviously a 4 Matic) and I would to do a few mods. I want to add a set of E63 AMG wheels and can't decide between the 19's or 20's. I don't want to make any other adjustments like springs etc, and I dont want to worry about rubbing. Any advice would be appreciated.
I'm also confused on an appropriate offset, I don't want the wheels to stick out from the fenders. Thinking 35mm will be ok. Anyone want to answer if I can run a staggered set?
Thank you for your advice!

Yup, very classy.

Where are wheel / car pics on this forum? Would love to see these on a W212.

I saw a similar looking set on fleabay, but they were 21" ... too little rubber between me and the road for comfort.

I find the ride on 18's to be almost too stiff for a luxury car, with 20's I don't think I'd even want to ride in the car as a passenger.

I vote for 19's.

If you are doing this for appearance sake and don't mind sacrificing ride then it doesn't really matter.
My issue is I have 18" on my W212 Wagon for summer and recommended 17" for winters. The car rides better on the winters and handles somewhat better as well recognizing I have no exotic tires on the thing.
The 18" can have a minor tendency to tram line which will be worse the shorter the sidewall gets.

This question is very subjective. I would go with what you really want. Being the E is a decent size car, IMO 20's look perfect on the car. 19's will also look good. I am sure which ever size you go it will look better than 18's.

20s look amazing but I'd also lower if you're going with 20s or it might look odd. 19s are probably the best compromise.

I have 20's on my Lorinser E350 W212. The ride is not bad but there is a differnce when you go to low profile staggered tires. I think I have to lower mines a bit but I dont want to touch any of the suspention while under warranty.
Sorry this is a cell phone pic.

I actually find the 20's to ride just fine. That being said I still have the stock suspension which appears to be fairly forgiving of these pencil thin tires. Gives me the ******* coming into driveways and driving down some streets though!

I went with 20's and I honestly don't feel much of a difference from my stock 18's lowering coming soon.... lol

i was debating about the same thing and decided to go with the 19s just because the tires on the 20s are so low and if the roads arent that good like theyre not where i am you might bend them sooner or later quicker than 19s

Looks awesome!

What offset are they and where did you end up getting the rims?

Much of this depends on where you are located. In Chicago, NY, Boston or DC you can throw the 19's away after a 10 minute drive downtown. 20's will do fine on glass smooth expressways though.

So, how are the roads in your area and what is your tolerance for financial pain - replacing wheels and tires?

Are those AMG wheels or aftermarket?

Switched to 19s just for more meat on tires, Nyc streets are unforgiving!
