Hello everybody,
I've been looking into W212 a lot lately. I'm not 100% sure yet if I want to trade in my W204 or just get a w212 but I came across this one and it almost sounds too good to be true. What do you think about it? What are the key points that I should look for when I actually see the car?

can't really tell if it's a P2 car or not. I see it has keyless go, but can't tell what other options are on it, like Pano roof, etc.
That is a good price for a 550. Says the title is clean,but make sure there is no accident record on CarFax.

It looks like a black panorama roof all the way back to me.
Only problem I see is that the seller is not a MB dealer. If it was the OP could ask for all of the updated software before buying it.
Then, the air springs in the rear have a known leak issue. Have the springs been changed?
It should be under warranty by mileage but how is it by time? If not under warranty then not able to get extended MB warranty and without that I would not buy.

I think I see the headlight washer covers, and I see the keyless go button, which would make it a P2. It has pano, doesn't appear to have parktronic or distronic. That seller tends to have pretty good prices, although I am not sure where they source the cars. Seems like a lot of car for the money, if it passes a good PPI and hasn't sat in a New England salt pile for the past 3 years.

It has an extra button next to the seat heaters that I don't have, I am guessing it's either seat cooler or the massage. Not sure.
The seats are leather, not MBtex, so that makes me think it's well equipped.
Wait, as a 350 guy, I seem to remember that all 550's come with leather?

There is no substitute for due diligence and going to look at and drive the car.
You need to get its history, car fax, dealer records, insurance records and maintenance records. You need to look at market prices as well. It seems well placed. There a couple in the Seattle area as well as some 550 coupes and cabriolets. If you are in WA might be worth making a day of it and looking at more than one. It is a dealer ad.

My personal experience, 2 years-ish ago, I was gonna buy their C300. Test drive and suspension feels super soft, even worse / softer than camry/accord/malibu.
Buyers beware, when you go to their place. Just sharing my experiences with them
I'd never consider those Eliot Bay cars anymore

Thank you guys for all your input into. I would like to say about everyone suggesting 4-matic just because I'm near seattle, its really not needed. I've had my rear-wheel drive C300 for almost two years and never really had an issue with weather. My only thing about not getting 4-matic is the price, its like $10k more for 4-matic.
I'm currently waiting til spring next year to final my decision on what I want to do. Either keep C300 or trade it in. I'll probably go test drive one on winter break. I've noticed that its hard to get find a good one lately, I've seen a lot of 2 doors. Here a newest one I've seen: http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/4779047346.html
