E250 vs ML350 Bluetec
Hello everyone,
I just want your opinion which one you would keep for long term if you have both. BTW, both are 2015 models. Thank you!

The answer really depends partly on intended usage. If you really need the full cargo capacity of a mid-sized SUV and you aren't so concerned about the driving characteristics of this big, heavy machine, then maybe that's the one who want to keep.
On the other hand, the E250BT is much more fun to drive, handles like a German sedan, gets very decent fuel economy and its clean styling will stand up well over time. For highway cruising, I would also prefer the E250BT, since it is so quiet, more efficient, accelerates faster for passing, has great sight lines for visibility, has very comfortable seats front and rear, and tracks like a locomotive down the highway.
The ML350BT is heavier (by almost 1000 lbs.), is harder to manoeuvre, has slower steering, has very restricted rear visibility, is thirstier on fuel, has slower acceleration for passing and it drives like a truck.

However, according to www.edmunds.com, the ML has rear shoulder room of 58.4" whereas the E Class is 56.9", or 1.5" less.

The E250BT has the FE of a Hybrid with the power of a V6 and a torque of a V8. It's a great vehicle to keep for the long haul.
But with young children you'll often need the hauling capability of the ML.
I gave up my 2011 ML350BT for the 2013 E350BT and sometimes missed it when the wife want to buy larger items which can easily be hauled by the ML.
The ideal vehicle is an E250BT wagon if only M-B will bring that over!

My E350BT currently averaged (combined) 7.0 L/100 KM.
I do over 75% driving on the 401/404 highways.
On trips to Montreal I see 5.8 L/100 KM and can do a return trip from Toronto/Montreal (over 1,000 KM) without refueling!
Your E250BT will get even better FE than my E350BT.
Cheers

It's going to get better once you put more mileage on it.

Reason that I ask is that I found that my previous E350BT computer was optimistic by 13% ! That's a significant error !
The E250BT computer seems to be more accurate.

Lately due to the cold winter, I noticed it's now 7.5L/100 KM.

The BC in our E seems pretty accurate, after 30.000km it indicates 7,5l/100km. I've to say that we drive for 60% in city-trafficjam (not the ideal situation for a 2 tonn. 4wd car ),30% highway and 10% countryroads...in my opinion is a good average consumption!
On the highway with cruisecontrol set at 140kmh it's incredibly efficient (14km/Liter) ,I admit this 4 cylinder diesel engine is a perfect match for a dailydrive-wagon,no need for the V6 even with the car fitted with 5 adults and luggages!
PS: due to our vexatory taxation on powerful petrolengine(plus the cost of petrol itself) we had to choose the diesel, but in my opinion the ideal engine would be the 500 V8...unfortunately I don't live in the US!
