My dealer confirmed my new order today. He had a slot and the new car will be built around April 10th, WITH the Surround View Camera.
This car is for my wife, replacing her 2010 E350.

Interestingly enough, with the Nappa Leather, they would not allow heated rear seats. Go figure.

What are the changes in 2016?

The addition of Power Folding Mirrors, a new gray paint replaces Palladium Silver and that is about it on the E350.

Power Folding Mirrors are very useful in my opinion. Those motorcycle lane splitters in CA cut a bit too close too many times

Should have launched the new gray paint this year with the movie :P

Actually, living in the So. CA area, I would love one of those "Mad Magazine" things, where I push a button and my mirror sticks out further, to trip those lane splitters!

Curious. My 2011 has power folding mirrors standard. I too ran into rear heated seat issue with standard leather when I bought mine.
Sounds like a nice set of wheels.

However, given that both Canadian and US DOG state that #996 is no longer available from March production onwards, I would suggest that you ask your dealer to request the MB "factory commission" sheet which would confirm every feature for your car's build.

The other weird change is the deletion of heated rear seats with Nappa ? MY2015 Canadian DOG shows HR seats to be part of the Premium Package and no mention is made of them being deleted for the Nappa option. I wonder if this is another possible deletion for MY2016 ?

By the way, folding mirrors have always been standard for Canadian W212. There is no justification for MBUSA denying this useful feature for US owners until MY2015 !!!

The surround camera is limited availability (supply constraint), not totally unavailable.

Heated rear seats are of course available with Nappa from the factory, that would be an MBUSA product planning decision to not allow them.

Thanks for the clarification ! My dealer had previously indicted zero availability.

Too bad Nappa isn't available with E250BT in Canada !

Dealer confirmed my order on Feb 14. He said the build date of my 2016 E350 is by end of this month and car should arrive at dealer by end of March.


My configuration is the same as Streamlier's without:


401 Active Ventilated Seat
422 Active Multi Contour Driver seat.


Does anyone know of any appearance changes form the 2015 model?

Actually, my new S550 now has a jack & spare as well, sitting on top of the trunk floor, instead of underneath where it belongs.

what motor is the 2016 350 having in it, still the v6 or a 4cyl turbo

I have not verified this, but I would be astounded if they were to switch engines for MY2016. The 2016 model year will be very short, as the new model will be coming out soon. I think the odds heavily favor the '16 being virtually identical to the '15.

We are replacing my wife's 2010. With all the crap MB has been pulling lately, such as using Run Flat tires and including NO SPARE on the S Class, we decided to go for another W212--which my wife loves, just in case the W213 has too many "improvements."

Yes, I think you can be very confident that there will be no significant changes for MY2016 from MY2015.

Like you, I was concerned about the potential changes for W213; we know that it will likely be a larger car and have RFTs which I loathe. The styling as indicated by the spy shots suggests a look very similar to W205, which does not appeal to me as much as the current W212, hence my decision to buy a MY2015.

Unfortunately, it seems that the next generation W213 will not have that E Class distinctiveness that the current car has. The new E will look very much like the the S and the C, the cookie cutter approach to styling. At least the present E stands out from the other MB models. With its very distinctive front LED light patterns, I can spot an oncoming E Class from a block away.

One new feature of the 2015/2016 E that might appeal to you and your wife is the single CD player that will record CDs to the hard drive. It's a great feature for assembling high quality music recordings.

Guess it is the same Music Register system, which is one of my favorite things about my 2010 "E." I have it completely filled.
However, I still enjoy the MULTI-CD CHANGER for those CD's I did not load into MR. While a single CD player works, it is a pain to change them while driving.
I have another vehicle where I have recorded CD's onto a thumb drive.
There are those who will disagree, but I do not think the music reproduction is as good on MR, thumb drives, BlueTooth, iPads, etc. compared to coming directly from a CD player.
