Unsurprisingly, it looks like a longer C-Class....

Porsche Macan S SportDesign / Ex M-B's: 11 & 10 & 06 E350's, 02 S500
Uncanny from a C Class in profile, just a bit longer.
I'm a little hopeful that the "dropping line / reverse wedge line on a wedge architecture" will finally cease its trend within the M-B range, as it doesn't look so pronounced on the E. Though that could just be illusion.

W213
If it will look like bigger C-class, it will be big disappointment. Even facelift of W212 look worse than original ( in my opinion). Too rounded, not sure it's the right direction.

Once they take off the plastic panels of the earlier prototypes, it's significantly easier to make out design elements. You can see the basic shape quite easily. In certain photos, you can see the character line running through the door handles. From some angles, the slight upturn of the trunklid is visible. You can see the inner edges of the headlights and taillights. You can see the cutlines for the backlight. And you know what the S-Class and C-Class look like, so....
IMHO, it'll be a VERY conservative design (b/c it looks a lot like a huge C-Class), but it should be quite handsome and elegant. I strongly dislike the design of the W212 (even moreso w/ the pre-FL version, which, IMO, should've never seen the light of day), so this will be a vast improvement.

I stand by it, and it was directed at you (just so there's no confusion) in response to this:
I respect that we're all entitled to our opinions, but you could have toned that down a tad on the W212 forum, no? You chose to post that here and got a response...shocking....Hardly nasty either.....and the only thing rude would have been if I posted~trolled my comments on the W204 forum. Something I have no interest in doing...

Why should I tone down my opinion? It was directed toward a CAR, not a person. If you can't tolerate reading negative things about a car because your ego is that tied up in your material possessions then that's a YOU problem, not a me problem.
*You* chose to take it in a different way and then made a personal attack.

Insulting a mans car is like insulting his wife. Just be prepared to hear something about yours that you might not like back, and you're off to the races. As they say in love and war; all is fair.

I have to agree. You shared your opinion and he shared his. I also think that the W204 is a big steaming pile of poo, especially the underperforming C250... but I kept that to myself.
The W205 is what a C class should have always been... A real MB.
Now that was a true "vast improvement!"

The anonymity of the internet allows people to show a rudeness that they perhaps wouldn't show in the real world. And that's really unfortunate, IMHO.
If people don't want to engage in a meaningful dialogue about cars and simply want to attack other people's opinions, well, I'm happy to not contribute to that kind of hate. I'll take your advice and will certainly move along. ::shrug::

Seriously? Step back and take a look this objectively...never mind. I don't think you are capable of that.
Dude - YOU just attacked the opinion of every w212 driver.

A different shot and obvious source showing rear and down the side, which has much different body lines and wheel flares than what I've seen. Not sure what to believe ;-)
