Farewell… for now
I'd like to thank everybody on this forum for years of insightful input. I just traded in my 2012 E550 but I am hoping to be back at some point soon. Good luck to all and wishing everyone many years of trouble free and positive MB experience...

Agreed... Not much out there as luxurious and quicker than the ttv8 for the money

Enjoy the ZF 8-speed Automagic transmission. You should look up having a coder to enable all the European only features on your 650i GC. (ie adaptive headlight with anti-glare control)
Come back when MB gives us 9G-Tronic
My garage is nicely divided between Stuttgart and Munich product.

Hmm good to know. Looking forward to all the Bavarian secrets. I don't know much about BMWs yet but the obvious differences I am noticing right away are the spirited drive and crisp handling. 6series is much sportier but it is less efficient than the E550 engine by at least 3/4 mpg on each end. The Mercedes NAV / command system is crap compared to BMW. Also BMW comes with five driving modes from comfortable ride to truly sports car feeling. I guess the real comparison would be if I had the MB CLS 550. I did test drive it but frankly it felt so close to my E550 that I could not justify the price tag. The BMW design was far more cutting edge and I instantly fell in love with the 6 series.

Congratulations - the Grand Coupe is the sexists BMW out there these days. I would love to have the B6 Grand Coupe.

congrats, mitaka! i have to agree with munich77. the 6 gc has the best body style in their entire line ups. i have no problem with either the coupe nor the convertible neither. i know the 640 and 650 will be fairly similar to our 350 and 550. but did you test drive both? i'm thinking about the same move.

Nice choice. One of the few alternatives I would take over the W212 E550. Gransport gives you the best of both worlds, coupe-like styling and 4 doors. Like a CLS, but different. Post some pics!
