Is this good price for extended warranty?
I have a CPO 2012 E350 bluetec, and it's still under original warranty.
The car is running very well, no any issue in one year so far.
I'm considering to buy an extended warranty, here is the quote from Mercedes Seattle:
1) You can extend the current CPO warranty an additional 2 years for $4599 plus tax
2) You can purchase a national warranty 48 months/60,000 additional miles for $4699 plus tax
Is this a good price, is there any room to negotiate down a bit?
thanks in advance.

you'll probably find some prices if you search on extended warranty. When I looked a year ago, the CPO extension was about $2,500 for two years.
Not sure what you mean by national warranty. Is it through a third party or is the MB ELW? I thought the MB ELW only goes out for up to 3 years and 100k total miles.

Wow, thats a lot for 2 years. I looked into an extended warranty when I bought my 2010 last year, they wanted about 1200 a year for it. I didn't bite.
Here's a suggestion. Take that 4600 and open up a savings account and park the money in it. If in the next two years it needs service than use that money for it. If in the next two years it doesn't, do a happy dance, you're ahead. If your engine or tranny blows in the next two year, forget it was me who told you to do this... Chances are they won't, but there is always that possibility.

There's a section on this forum for warranties, you can shop anywhere for one. You got quoted way high. Extended 7/100K MB warranty (meaning net of 3/50K after factory) will run me about $3200. I'm fine with that and I don't typically get extended warranties. The E-350's seem to be fairly dependable but one good uh-oh can easily cost that on these vehicles.
Your call.

On my recent purchase I extended my CPO for 2 addt'l years for $2900. They started at $3500, and after getting them to $2900 they indicated that was as low as they would go. I tried to get it to $2500.....no dice...
Btw 2 months into ownership (granted its a 2010) they replaced the rear diff and a seat heater, almost $6K....Like mud said it just takes one issue.
Extended CPO will also help when you sell it. I plan to sell with approx 6 months left. Good luck, and I would stay away from option 2

Ha. Reminds me of the Godfather: “But let me say this. I am a superstitious man, a ridiculous failing but I must confess it here. And so if some unlucky accident should befall my youngest son, if some police officer should accidentally shoot him, if he should hang himself while in his jail cell, if new witnesses appear to testify to his guilt, my superstition will make me feel that it was the result of the ill will still borne me by some people here.

Waaaay too much. I just purchased the MB Extended warrantey for additional 3 years (total 7/100k) for more than $2500 less than what you were quoted for 2 year, on my 2012.
Contact some of the forum sponsors in the warranty section and you will be very happy you did.

Yes. This dealer is trying to hose you. A Mercedes pamphlet I picked up a few months ago at dealer states the retail price for E class is $2495 for 2 years/unlimited miles warranty.
