HOW TO REMOVE THE FRONT GRILLE ON A 2014 E350 SPORT?!?!
Does anybody know how to or know where I can get a video or pictured instructions on how to remove the front center grille on a 2014 E350 sport??? I've searched EVERYWHERE!!! on here and google searches and found nothing, just instructions for older E's which are easy to take off. I hope I'm not gonna have to take off the entire bumper just to swap a grille. If somebody can lead me in the right direction ASAP I'd REALLY appreciate it as I'm trying to swap grilles immediately. Thanks for any help!
I've been a member for years here when I got my 2010 C350 but haven't really come on much, I'm looking to frequent regularly now with the 2014 E350 so I'll be posting pics of both as well as before and after pics of mods. I'm in Brooklyn, NY.

I'm afraid the whole bumper would have to come off in order for you to replace the grille. This is one of the reason I am holding off switching grille.

Damn! Thats what i figured from just popping the hood and taking a quick look last night. Theres no room for it to just push in and slide out. Anybody have instructions on that? (Taking the bumper off) ANY help will be appreciated. I Never understood why it takes years for any mod info to be available for new cars. I got my E September 2014, figured I'd give it a few months for companies to make some cool aftermarket parts..... 7 months later.....nope, nothing. I was ONLY able to find the chrome dot grille thats on the 2015 S Coupe & 15' CLS (which I'm in love with btw), bought it, and WILL put it on by the weekend even if it TAKES ME all weekend lol.
Thanks for the reply Royce! Appreciate it

I'm sure somebody somewhere has done it by now. It's almost like MB doesn't want us messing with their original look. I can't even find instructions on removing the front bumper. you guys do any upgrades otherwise yet?

Well, I'm based in South East Asia and hence we have the E200 here. First mod was to chip the car and that's pretty much what I've done thus far. I'm looking to switch out rims and probably switch out the chrome lip to a carbon fibre one.

Im pretty sure you do not have to remove the bumper cover. Im not 100% on that so Ill look into it. But, I thought there is just a few plastic rivets and the bottom is on rubber pivots. Again, could be wrong so I plan on looking into it as I plan on replacing my grille too. If the bumper cover does have to come off, however, I am 100% sure that is not a big deal. Youll be pleasantly surprised how easy the cover is removed. So, to be continued. Today at work I'll figure out exactly what needs to be done and share it with you guys.

Felix, thats exactly what i though! I figured it would be as easy as removing a bolt or two and then just popping it out of the slots and in all honesty i havent tried yet (work really gets in the way of my free time) but from popping the hood and taking a quick look, it definitely looks more complicated than that. I could be completely wrong also, sometimes things end up being way more easy than they seem. ANY info would be a big help though, any helpfull pics too! weekends almost here, HOPEFULLY i can get it figured out before i have to just go in blindly rogue

Like i said previously, unless you're buying interchangeable parts from MB there arent any aftermarket parts out yet for the new E's (at least that I was able to find) so this was an EBay find (China). I must admit, ive pretty much come to know what to expect from ebay sellers in china quality-wise, but I was actually pretty impressed by the quality
Seems pretty sturdy and well built (unlike grilles from ebay that ive gotten throughout the years for the 2010 W204) while the star can be removed, its pretty secured onto the grille itself with a hook/slot design which I actually liked and felt more comfortable with (god forbid I'm parked in the street somewhere and somebody reverses into the grille and bust up the star, which happened to me on more than one occasion with the W204 and left the star loose since the impact broke the fasteners)
I'll take a few pics of the grille front & back when i get home today and post them up. In the meantime I have pics from the Ebay listing.
Kind of embarrassing to admit but I'm pretty new to forum posting, for some reason when i post pics it only ends up showing the last pic I upload.

How's the torque & HP reaction difference with the chip/ what stage chip did u get? That CF lip sounds sick, does it actually exist or you thinking custom? That would be a sweet swap, I never even thought of CF. I was actually thinking of wrapping it in a gun metal vinyl. My car is white so I was thinking of doing all the exterior trim in the gun metal. What color is yours Royce?

Any update on the details F3lix? Counting down to crunch time.
ANYBODY have any info? I tried googling AGAIN, and my own post here is the main thing that comes up.
I guess everybody with the new E's really like how they look stock? I've always liked to change something up on my new cars nothing too crazy/tacky, something subtle to distinguish between the rest. Everytime i see E's over here (and there are A LOT) I cant help it feel like a robot/clone they ALL look exactly the same. Makes me feel like an old man like i have a car that people don't customize at all. Thats what I LOVE about C's you see a lot of different looks. Thats why when i bought the grille I was SURE it would be easy to find instructions. Boy was i wrong.
Sounds like the chip was definitely worth it Royce.
How much did you pay for it, brand etc?

Ok. Like I said I'll get it done with or without help..........mr gets **** done, GOT IT DONE. Pics after the jump, but ***I would NOT recommend anybody to do this!!!***
First of all, you DO have to take the bumper off to change the grille if not for any other reason or fact that the ****ing factory grille is RIVETTED ONTO THE BUMPER!!! there are a series of rivets permanently attaching the grille to the bumper. I didn't take any pictures of the process or anything, I just wanted to get it done. If you've ever worked around a car you'll figure it out. And trust me it's.NO EASY TASK. I can draw some pics to show approximately where the rivets and screws are.
Tools you will need:
Allen key set
Rivet gun
Rivet remover (i used clippers/drill to remove rivets)
PATIENCE!!!

Nope. I had the same idea. I removed the star that the new grille came with and its a completely different set up. I took the star with black housing off of the new grille but the hook/slots are in different locations, plus the new grille's star black housing hooks on its not the turn and lock style like the factory one is. I also got the illuminated star (which i'm still a little iffy about) and that isnt compatible either. You CAN make the illuminated star "custom fit" with some alterations which I dont mind doing, just not sure if I want it on my car or not.

Yea i thought so too but i honestly prefer the way the new grille's star comes, it cant be taken off as easily as the factory one which u simply turn to unlock and then pull off. The fit is perfect as well as the finished look. I was VERY impressed with everything considering it came from china. Didnt have to force anything to fit or make any kind of adjustments. It slid right into position and went on very easily. Fits flush and perfect inside and out. Unlike some previous after market grilles i bought off ebay for my 2010 c350 in the past. I say if you're considering buying one and are worried about quality or fit, go for it! You'll be VERY happy with it. Unless you're in NYC, then in that case don't get one, i want to be the only one in NYC with an E class with this look. Lol

Hi new to the site. Trying to swap out my grill on a 2014 e350 sport. I removed the front bumper on a 06 c sport. Is the process the same? Any help would be appreciated. Concerned about "mystery bolts and alignment pins" I don't want to tear it down and find it's hung up on something I didn't see. Thanks
