How long to build E class?

Unlike my M series which is built here in America, about how long does it take from order date to receive an E class? I assume the E class cars are all built in Germany and sent over but I am not sure of that.

I've experienced 90 days until delivery in New England. I think it all depends on what stage of the production line you are able to configure your order from. I believe all left hand drive models of the E class are still built in Germany at the Sindelfingen plant but it's been a couple of years since I took the factory tour. I recall that some right hand models are produced in India and Thailand? Not sure though.

India and Thiland? I hope not. Anyway, I'll have to research that further. Thanks for the info.

Ball Park figure 8-12 weeks order to delivery but many variables that can shorten or lengthen. If a dealer already has an order in and about to drop and changes it to your specs, it can be as short as 6 weeks. My AMG was ordered 3/17 and delivered 8/4. E class assembly is in Sindelfingen with 71% German sourced parts per Window Sticker on an E63S.

Have you been to India or Thailand lately? In my opinion, they are certainly capable of operating a world class factory in either of those places.
You don't have to worry about it though because as I mentioned, I think they only build right hand drive models.

Thanks for all the information. No, in fact I have never been to India or Thailand. I only know those countries from the history books and the news. From everything I know, my choice (if I had one) is I would rather have my MB car built in Germany by Germans. No real reason for that choice other than the reputation of MB was built in Germany by Germans. My ML350, which was built in Alabama, is great and I could not ask for anything more so there is no doubt people other than Germans can put together a car. But if I had my choice, my gut feeling would select a car built in Germany over one built in Thailand.

sometimes its a matter of supply and demand. if the car you picked with the specs you want is already in production, you can get it sooner. but if you ordered say a designo color with deisgno interior, it might take longer.

we experienced that when we were trying to order a C and ticked all the boxes, just so happened that there was one on the shipping container on its way here to Aus with the exact color combo that we wanted so if we went ahead with the purchase, we would have gotten it sooner.

also, ill pretend i didnt see the link about mercs being made in india and thailand. no other reason than i like to think my mercs are all german made.

I ordered mine on Oct. 19, 2009 and it was completed on Nov. 4, 2009 and delivered to me on Nov. 21, 2009.
Incidentally, the Germans are just as capable of poorly building/assembling a car as anyone else. Look at all the defects that show up on this website and other car related ones.

My 2014 E350 was build on 06/17/14, passed through the Panama Canal on 07/04/14 and in my hands from the dealership on 07/27/14. Once it was on a ship, you can track it my ship name, the dealer can give you the ship name and launch dates.
