Where do you put your carpool lane/toll road transmitter?
In California, we have a FasTrak transponder that sticks to the inside of your windshield with velcro strips so that you can use certain carpool lanes and toll roads. You're supposed to put it in either of the lower corners of your windshield or just under the rear view mirror kind of like this:
Because this thing is pretty ugly, I'm curious if anyone has a creative way they have stuck a device like this on their windshield. Right now I keep it in my door's pocket and just place it on my dashboard when I need to use it, but that's getting to be a pain.

Typically I do what you are doing; keeping it out of sight and taking it out when needed. However if you want to, try next to the rear view mirror on the passenger side. This way it's out of your line of sight.

2014 E550-sold 😩
Our Ipass/EasyPass is way smaller than that and mine is mounted to the windshield. I couldn't imagine fumbling with it every time I went through a toll. Can you get one that mounts on the front license plate bracket?

Put it in the cargo box
I have the new NY EZ Pass and i think even though it is smaller compared to the older EZ Pass, I think it looks hideous! So I put in the nose of my roof box and the RFID signal passes though ABS plastic with ease. I went through a cash/pass lane the first time just in case it didn't read, and it always does! I must admit, I felt very clever once I realized it worked. If I didn't have a roof box, my second option would be to put it on the inside of the sunroof.

you've got my next car
i was curious, can you tell me what cross bars and box you're using? I was looking at something that would be wide enough where i could still put two bike carriers on each side of the cross bars, yours look like they stick out enough -- are they 72in?

I have the NJ EZ Pass and it's hideous. I have mines right under my rearview mirror on my MB since I got sick of fumbling with it several times a day.
On my Murano I have it velcro'd to the dash. I bought that car for my wife anyway so it was where she preferred it.

Thank you sir! I plan on doing the same mods to mine that you did... the chrome control caps, AMG door pins, aluminum pedals etc. It looks better than I imagined it would!
Have you thought about deleting the rear badging on your wagon?

I mount mine on the windshield, behind the mirror, on the passenger side, so that when I am seated and driving, I can't see it.
If I can't see it, it doesn't look bad, right?

Cool, do the mods! I haven't planned to delete the badges, maybe in the future.
