Should footwell lights stay on in drive?

A thought occurred to me as I was driving home last night. I have had my '13 E350 for just under a year, and I feel like there used to be soft lighting down in all the foot wells at all times (not just when door is opened or just closed). All other trim lighting is on. Am I correct, or just imagining this? And if I am correct, where do I turn it back on? thx
