2015 E400 and 2015 GLK350
I'll follow this thread, but cannot "actively" participate. Only have 3,000 miles on my 2015 E400, but I plan to keep it to high mileage. I kept my 2001 LS430 to 137K mi, and only sold it because in the first half of the year my repair costs were about half the actual cash value of the car - and that was with nothing serious going wrong. I just felt it was time.

I'm one of those who take their new cars back to the dealer a lot under warranty, if I feel that something is amiss. I try not to make a pest of myself, but I get to know the service department staff and try to make it known that I just want to "get things right" so that I can have a long and happy relationship with them. This worked with my W201, back in the 1980's and 1990's, and worked with Lexus for nearly 20 years as well.

I also make it known that I plan to have all my service done at that dealership, so that they can expect a reasonable profit "annuity" from my cars. I know that they are more expensive than the independent shops, but I also feel that they are best positioned to diagnose and repair these complex beasties. I don't mind paying for service, if I receive good service for my money.

I do, however, miss the "old days." When I purchased my W201, new in 1988, I was introduced to "my" mechanic at the dealership. They assigned a particular tech to each car sold, and any time that car came in for service he was the one assigned to work on it. He and I got to know each other, and he knew my car very well, taking care of it as he would take care of a friend's car. The dealership has grown in the ensuing years, and they no longer assign a tech to each customer's car. My sales advisor, however, did introduce and "link" us with a service advisor, so I try to work through him rather than the generic call center that normally takes service appointments. I suppose the call center is fine for simple things like an oil change, but if there is anything unusual, I'll call the service advisor.

Sorry for the long-winded post, but I'm also looking for ways to ensure that I can enjoy driving my new MB's (both the E400 and the GLK) to multiple 6-digit odometer readings. Any advice would be appreciated.

Wow that's impressive. One of my neighbors has a Lincoln Town Car with over 500,000 miles on it. Lincoln/Ford sent him a banner to put in his back window. His brother owns a shop and he's a good DIY so he'll probably have it another few years atleast.

2010 E350 Sport with 119,000 Miles on it.
No Issues so we just keep driving it.
I think the secondary battery might be going out as I got a light on it recently but it went away in a day.
Hope to drive it to 200K miles.

I got e220 2011 87k with no issues .these are the best cars so far dont go to mechanics who dont have experience with mercs you will end up spending more money.always buy original merc filters or parts or use Mann filters or Pagid parts only .every 46000 miles change your diesel filter and every 50000 miles transmission oil and filter air filter change every year depending on weather or road conditions to drive on

Moe !

I have 2012 and 47 000 km in meter. Only one minor issue, pre-safe functions (Distronic Plus, Blind Spot Assitant,..) dos not work when there are below -15 Celsius outside. (last week was -26 )
My previous was 2010, 98 000 km and only ECU was replaced, because yellow 'engine fault' was on every now and then.
Most of taxis are MB w212 here in Finland, and friend of mine was previous owner of (http://www.nettiauto.com/mercedes-benz/e/7379912), almost 600 000 km in meter now. No big issues. There are many good shape w212 in sold in (http://www.nettiauto.com/mercedes-be...ageFrom=400000)

W212- Differences between US and Canadian

BeachBunny: Are you sure the Canadian E-class have different parts than the US E-class?

For instance, if he has a Pzev car, you actually have a 15 year/150k warranty on various emission parts, but only if you're in a Pzev state, in some other non-pzev states, you only get a couple years, not the 15/150k.
Just got a CEL again and my OBD reader is throwing a Purge Valve code. Interesting enough when I took my car to the dealer a few weeks ago. They noticed that it was stuck closed and they had to open it. I forget the exact wording but I have it in my binder. I did some research and see that NJ is a Pzev state so I wonder if I can get any of this fixed without an issue?

My 2014 E350 only has 24k miles. No problem except the dealer torque the panorama roof. I am a DIYer that keep cars for a long time. The most mileage is 325k miles on my old DD w115 diesel, sold my w124 at 190k mile, w140 at 176k mile, and finally the w124 coupe was gone at 180k mile. MB is a good vehicle, and is much easier to work on than a Range Rover.

Regardless of the transmission problems I had before, I'm willing to stick it out to 100000 miles if I don't have anything other than minor issues

107000 miles. No mechanical issues. Nice car with lots of power. Other than the interior rattles it is very nice.

Had right side DRL go out. Not covered by ELW so bought the light on internet for $176+shipping and replaced it myself. Dealer price is about $350 and they would charge at least one hour for the job, i.e. around $500 total.

My 2011 E350 Bluetec has 102,000 miles. I do most of my own maintenance. I have had limited problems. Recently I have had CEL light caused by "exhaust gas recuirculation performance". I have been unable to find the problem. The problem seems to come and go, but this time I might have to seek help. Over all I am happy.

2.5 years now, up to 86K miles. The rest of you give me great hope that I'll be fine in the long run as I truly love this car and wouldn't want anything else.

2010 E550 with 124k miles, no real issues to report. Had to patch a rubbed-through wire leading to the AIRMATIC purge valve, which took about 20 minutes and 4 inches of wire.

Beginning the journey with my new to me 2010 E3504matic. 93.3k Wish me luck that I make it to 200k without any killer problems. Just retired my 1998 A4 with 220K. I will miss that car. It was great to me.

I sold my 2004 Infiniti M45 with 216,000 miles on it... I was the original owner. It faithfully ate an AC compressor every 72,000 miles, transmission gearshift linkage broke inside the tranny (ugh!), fuel gauge became overly optimistic so that empty = 1/2 tank remaining on the gauge, replaced a crankshaft position sensor at ~200k, headlamps were $400 EACH to replace and well worth it considering you had to disassemble the entire front of the car to do so. Don't forget the oil changes every ~$3500 miles... but overall, good car. Very rough teething problems for the first 60,000 miles or so with cabin build quality, but once that was sorted out, great car. Definitely was a better car at 100k than new. Would I buy another Infiniti today? Nope. Glorified Nissan Maximas with major electronics glitches on some of them.

You are in Florida. Why haven't you taken advantage of the Florida Lemon Law?

2011 E550: 71,000 miles. AirMatic issue at 7K, everything fine since. I am having issues with warped front rotors every 6K to 8K miles now since I hit the 50,000 mile mark. MB replaces them free of charge. I am not liking this however. Also not liking the options to replace the car if I need to.

2011 E550 also, 80.5K. Also had issues on front rotors warping on low miles, not really sure what causes that. They might argue about driving habits but it should not warp for less than 10K. How does your dealer handles it for free?

When you guys get warped rotors, it is a steering shake upon braking? That would be the typical indicator of warped front rotors. I'm feeling more of a pulse when trying to stop smoothly. I think it might be back rotors, because the steering does not shake at all, but it feels like a jerky pulse when braking, never very smooth.

The shaking is def in the steering wheel and its def the front bec if its the back, you'll feel it more on the seats which it does not happen. The vibration happens only on slight breaking, more on the initial push, on high speed the first push it will shake and gone as you press harder but very visible on the first contact of the pads and the rotors. On low speed, you will feel it more. You'll also notice the rotors that they have wear marks on the outer rings. Again not sure what causes this, but based on some of the threads here, its a common issue. I just got mine replaced last Feb. Put around 4K on now,not issues yet, fingers crossed.

He may have an extended warranty or if he got the job done at the dealer, you automatically get a 12 month/12k warranty with any service work at an MB dealer.
