Do those pads from Autozone come with a new wear sensor, Arrie? I need to replace my fronts and my check pad wear warning notice is active.

Okay, I now see that Autozone also sells the pad sensor, so I will just buy one. I see you have the brown leather in that photo. Same combo I have and I love that old school color with the white.

I have no issue with vibration under braking, so I would like to get some more miles on my rotors. Once I yank the wheels and check the wear that may change. Then I will follow your lead. The pads are dirt cheap and I will just be doing the front.

2011 E550
I had no issues when I bought my E550 CPO until the dealer said I needed new brakes. They quoted me a price and for the brakes and rotors it was $40 more than the non dealer price so I went with them. After about 4,000 miles I started getting a little vibration that was noticeable if I tapped the brakes on the highway. Over the next 2,000 miles the vibration got worse to the point it was getting scary.
I took the car back to the dealer and they checked the rotors and said they were defective and replaced pads and rotors for free. 10,000 miles later they are perfect. I wonder if they just have quality issues with the E550 rotors.

Sorry late on this. House flooding issues...
The pads do not come with the sensors as you already have discovered. I changed mine before the warning was triggered so I used the sensors from the old pads. Just had to open up the hole in the new pad for the sensor to fit.

So, I decided to continue with the OEM pads( which are Carrying the Akebono marking). I will switch over pads when I do the rotor replacement. The biggest issue with any work in the wheel well is getting the damn wheel off. Lol. I always have to use a breaker bar on the bolts and bang the crap out of the wheel to bust it lose. After that everything is easy. Here are a couple photos of the right front pad with the sensor and the thickness at which the "check pad wear" warning is activated.

Yes, all OEM at the moment, and the pads are clearly marked AKEBONO. MB pads are outsourced. These are great pads and my rotors have no lippage, so I will run these now until I have to switch out. The pads were $110.
Drove 400 miles over the weekend and new pads are great. Bad news is, the check pad warning went off on the rears now just yesterday. I knew they were getting close, so now I get to do those also. haha
