Just 2 thick washers but i guess that with or without them the result would be the same. Anyway, i don t think that using washers or spacers is going to lead to a feasible result as the frame (oem screen frame) is going to be pushed forward/outside and is not going to allow the dashboard trim to sit on its place properly .
Ok guys I finally finished installing it on my 12 cls63, was over a 2 day period and I love the end result. Used oem facelift front plate and bracket, lots of back and forth trimming the center wood trim until the install looked oem. Gaps were a no go for me so this is why I chose to dremel down the pieces rather then using washers. Besides that everything else went smoothly and installed like an oem screen would.
Overall very impressed! The manufacturer can definitely revise some things such as the length of the main wire harness, its longer than it needs to be and if you want the wiring too look pretty forget about it, you will have just jam the wiring where you can to make it fit. This goes for behind the factory head unit, above behind the screen there is plenty of room and you can make the wiring look organized.
Next step is to modify the android system. Make some translations, text changes and photoshop some cls pictures instead of some generic car that is used currently for canbus indications.
Bonus: Installed sl climate controls so I can turn the stupid zone control off and have one knob adjust both temperatures.
Hello, I just bought an A Class 200d with Comand NTG5S1, I want to know if I can add the rear camera myself without any settings ? Is my comand compatible ? What are the references of the cable and the camera ? The car is 06/16 and everything original.

@calin.m and @chris does your speed indication work? I get outside temp, rpm and all other info but the speed stays 0km dont know if its related to w218. Also I used canbus A for the wiring anyone use B?

Hi there! Yes it works without any problem, you should use "B" setup. When i tried A the rotative control was not working on my w218.

thank you. I figured out the speed thing, was my smarttv module blocking the signal, once disabled it worked fine. Interesting on the canbus, I am using A and everything works great, tried B for a second and seemed to work aswell. Using the comand knob in android works great, scrolling down pages with the touch screen is not very responsive for me though, especially in the play store.

Is there anything like this for 2012 A207's (Pre-facelfit but with the straight DRL's) with Audio 20 fitted, or do you need to go to Command first? Its also a RHD car so, are RHD brackets available?

Actually if you contact Carlife they have someone in Singapore who makes the bracket for RHD cars. At least that's what it says in the comment section on their youtube video.

I receive mine today from Carlife and installed on my w218, attached pictures with the 10.25 screen installed on face lift bracket .
Would you be able to take pictures from the top and from behind so we can see how much gap there is?
I see that your car is a RHD, so is mine albeit a W212, so I am wondering if it's possible to install the screen using the OEM bracket that's on the car and what the result would look like.
Also, how did you manage to tuck the cable behind the COMAND unit?
I removed it two months ago to install a cable harness to have Video in Motion and to turn off the ECO function and I had a hell of a time to put all the cables back in. There is no way I can fit more cables behind the COMAND unit, it is extremely tight in there behind the head unit.
