2010 E550 Airmatic Strut Replacement
I recently had one of my front airmatic struts go kaput. Contacted a few good repair places here in Houston and in all cases I was looking at around $1,300 PER STRUT PLUS LABOR!!! I start looking around for alternatives, and Arnott Industries has aftermarket struts and a good reputation, but unfortunately they don't have the fronts for the W212 E550 yet. Kept hunting and found a place in Florida where you have your struts removed, send them the strut, they refurbish it, send it back, and then you replace it. The difficulty here is you need to find a shop that can manage to keep your car on a lift or something similar while the struts are removed. Took mine 5 days from removal to receipt of rebuilt strut. My mechanic at MPH Auto, who really knows Mercedes, said the rebuilt struts looked fantastic and he was impressed with the work. I paid $950, including shipping, to have BOTH struts refurbished. Huge $$ savings.......

2014 E550-sold 😩
Did you take any photos of this process per chance? Never seen a front strut go yet on. 2010. I believe they are Monroe.

yea i seen this service either on ebay or somewhere else , but didn't have time to wait , so i just bought a used one , and that used one came off a CLS (i believe 2012-14 model). for 5 bills.
but keep us posted on this , it sounds like a good deal , if someone ever needs it.
all labor took me an hour and a half to replace. good luck

I'm about to do this job, $950 sounds like a great deal, I spoke to RMT and their best price is on eBay which is around $950 for the two struts alone.
Arnott recon it'll be end of 2017 before they have a front strut for the W212.
I'll take some photo's, it looks straightforward.
Car is an early 2010 model E550, 95k miles.
