Have a 2014 sports edition with about 20k miles. I've been noticing a faint vibration in the car while on highways doing speeds more than 60 mph. It isn't wild or violent and there isn't any noise but I still feel it while driving. I can't recall correctly if it was there before or I am imagining things. Has anyone felt this before? I'm thinking of taking it to the dealer but I don't want to sound like an over demanding idiot while at the dealership. Thanks for your replies.

1.did you hit any curbs recently? maybee need to balance your wheels
2.how are your tires ? i had a slight vibration too , and couldnt figure it out , but on monday got new rear tires and ever since it drives as smooth as new (never thought rear tires would make such an impact on steering wheel feel)
3.how is your tire pressure?
....anything else im missing here?

edit : had vibration around at about 74mph and higher (sometimes around same speed , sometimes different)

I haven't hit any curbs recently but my wife also drives it occasionally so can't be 100% sure . The tires have more than enough meat left in them (>50%). My driving is primarily in the city roads and only occasionally doing highways. Do you think I should go to a tire shop first before even taking it to the dealership for diagnosis?

If you have aftermarket wheels, make sure they are hub-centric, with a tight fitting hub ring. If not, they can cause vibration issues. You can buy replaceable ones at tirerack.com

If you can - rotate the tires front to back and see if that changes the vibration. This may point to a tire or wheel issue.

The car is 100% stock. No mods. I haven't changed any wheels before nor do I have the tools or expertise to do so safely . Sorry....it's either tire shop or dealership. I'm assuming they would do a free evaluation under warranty at least.

yea take it to a tire shop n balance them. should be around 40-50 bucks.
if that dont help ..might be a more serious issue.
or swap your wheels around to see if that helps , unless you have a staggered setup where u can take it straight to balance.

2018 S450 4Matic
Angry Possible Caliper jam

I had similar problem on my 2012 E350 4Matic at around 32K miles.

After taking to dealer, I was told the two passenger side rims were bent. Cost $350 to repair. Also replaced two rear tires along with rebalancing.

Did the repair. Problem continued.

went back to dealer, said it could be brakes (front/Rear/both). Cost $700/800.

Went to another MB shop. They informed that right caliper was jammed. Replaced front rotor/pads for $640 with OEM parts from the same dealer.

Car runs like a charm.

I was mad with the dealer for not doing complete diagnostic.

Good Luck.

I would think if one of the calipers were sticking, the car would pull to one side instead of vibrate at high speed.

To the OP, I would go to a tire shop and have them check for balance and bent rims.

Just had this ... was airmatic malfunction and needed rebalance . Had them check each rim for bends or damage ... none found ... airmatic was fixed and car is smooth now

Airmatic can absolutely NOT cause vibration issues like the OP is explaining. ABSOLUTELY NOT.

My car is not airmatic BTW.
The vibration is so faint that sometimes I feel that I'm just imagining it. It isn't related to braking or engine rpms but more consistent with speeds over 60 in a smooth interstate. From your responses I'm narrowing it down to mostly tire/ wheel problems. I will be busy for the next few weeks but will get it checked out afterwards. Thanks for your replies.
