The sensor is kind of funky - you need to swipe back and forth a bit towards the middle of the bumper. On the upside, the press-a-button closing works well

Was it working before, or is this the first time you are trying it?
On my car, it's not just about putting your foot under the car, you have to pull your foot back out as well, in one fluid motion. Don't leave your foot under there. Once you get the hang of it, the trunk will open and close reliably.
Good luck.

You might need to get into the trunk from the inside. Do you have a passthrough? I think all vehicles have an emergency latch in the back of the trunk for anti-kidnapping or something.

I have the 2014 E350 P1 and mine has it. Not sure if it comes on everyone of them. Wanted to ask where you bought yours at because I picked mine up from a MB dealership and they have a concierge to walk you through every option of the car. It was awesome. They hooked my phone up via bluetooth, explained practically every button. Only thing they missed was how to open the hood. That little lever is hidden pretty good.

Sensors, associated harness, etc. are located behind rear bumper, see diagram. To confirm you have this feature run VIN check for code 871 here: http://www.vindecoderz.com/

I bought it from a Honda dealer (next to Benz dealer) as a lease turn in. They knew less than I did. I've learned about 98% of it so far. Still figuring out which options it came with.

Bumping an old thread is one thing, but doing so with an cryptic, unintelligible question is no help, either.
