Potential cheapest DIY
 

So... I order brushed gunmetal film to protect my surfacebook, and there was some left over and I really like this texture and look. So I did tried small DIY, and very satisfied. Think this film can purchase for $2 for smallest part on ebay.

Very nice! I like the brushed metal look. I've been doing this with Carbon Fiber vinyl since back in 2008.

3M used to send sample packs with 3"x5" pieces of all of the 1080 Scotchprint vinyl. I had different colors of brushed metals, metallics, different colors of carbon fiber, flat colors etc. I'm searching for the link.
