Im so so sorry this happened to you. One owner before you? "ALL" maintenance done at dealer? Hmm, funny how often im hearing that prefacing someone describing a huge fcking problem.... Back to my INDY mechanic it is....

You spent 5grand on that basic service they did for you? NO other repairs were done at that time? I had wrist pins fixed in my 2015 c 300 and they didnt properly check the rest of teh engine and the fuel injector seals blew a week later.

If they did pistons and the injector seals went out, it's because they didn't change them during the rebuild.

Those direct injectors have a Teflon type compression seal that is one-time use, has very specific instructions (i.e. - if you install the seal on the injector and don't install it into the engine withing 30 min you have to use a new seal), yet some techs I work with don't bother to change them. It's largely a consequence of lack of training and the lack of pay on the warranty side. When you are underpaid for the job, you tend to rush and skip steps and then this kind of **** happens. I take the time to go find the special tools to remove and install the seals on the injectors, but not everyone is willing to work as cheap as I am apparently.

Car is being picked up this afternoon!

Also as promised here is the last service record prior to the engine failing in February. I did have quite a bit of work done by the dealership right before Winter 2016. The other service record is when I had it towed there after the engine blew.

My brother-in-law works on Diesel trucks so I'm driving around an F250 for the moment. It's still fun in a different sort of way but I cant wait to finally get my car back..

That's a good look in the mean time. Hopefully it'll only be a week or so more max.

I was wondering how they'd get it up there with the airmatic being in park mode.

Yeah I looked high and low for a way to get the compressor to start without the engine running but ended up giving up. Short of manually applying 12 volts to the pump I didn't want to cause any other damage so I'm very thankful they had those ramps. I had maybe a 1/2 inch of clearance when they were pulling it on the flatbed.

does MB ELW covers such things? or still need some special insurance coverage?

Of course it would be covered, unless you purposely drove around with no oil just to blow the motor and get a new one. They would need to prove you did such a stupid thing, however.

No way I'll be neglecting it; just like the OP, if in case I were in that situation, just wanted to know.

I check oil level every other fuel-up (800'ish miles) to see if there is any burning.
When it comes to motorcycle, every time I plan a trip more than 100miles, I check the oil level, even if it is everyday

SHE LIVES AGAIN!!!!

I picked it up on Monday. Final total came in just under 10k, it drives like a brand new car!

Telly and MBS Automotive did an amazing job on the repair and the price was unbeatable. While it did take a while to get the job completed I'm just happy I finally don't have to look at a broken down benz sitting in my garage anymore, They've gained a lifelong customer. Also thanks a TON to S140s and jumpman726 for recommending I bring my car to them.

I've put about 150 miles on the car since I picked it up on Monday. Passed the emissions test and was able to renew my registration on the vehicle as well. I'm back in business! Thanks everyone for sticking along for the ride, hopefully its only minor repairs from here on out.
