i just hope the 2nd one isnt repaired , cuz the paint might be slightly different (as we all know is a possibility )
otherwise 360 isnt bad for a perfect wheel

I just did a quick search, not sure what the size of the rim is, once you have the MB part number, you can do a search and sometimes you can find them in the $200 range.

Here's a couple for $189, but they probably don't have them in stock. Lots of places list them, but don't have them in stock.

Yes, they will be sending me a check for the difference $971. With Tire Rack I have to pay upfront for the tire and they will reimburse me since they have a Hazard protection plan on most tires you get from them.

Thx for all the help everyone. One last question is the rim size for the staggered set up on my RWD E550. I don't have the exact sizes of what I need for each rim (Ft vs Rear). I can of course find the tire size but I've never had to replace any rims on this car. I'll do some more searching but if anyone has the figures on hand feel free to post it.

I'll update everyone once I make a final decision and post pics with whatever I get done.

I'm going to guess that the fronts are the 8.5 and the rears are the 9 inch wide rims. Not sure what the rear was, but the front was typically a 245/40/18. The part number of the wheel should be stamped on the inside of the rim somewhere.

Yes, those are correct for the front and the rear are 265/35-18.

All of my searches say what you're saying. Front 8.5 Rear 9.
Tire rack site is so odd since they don't have a stagger set if you input the sedan RWD but it does when you put in a Coupe of the same year etc.
I'm going to just call them if I get rims from them since their online functionality is not working properly for my car.

Thanks so I'm in the right area, just wanted to confirm.

This might be considered heresy, but here goes. Would you be ahead by going to a square setup? IIRC don't tire tread wear warranties double by allowing them to be rotated?

With a RWD vehicle I think it's best to keep the staggered set up. As is I have spin out here and there especially in wet weather. I feel more comfortable with the additional width in the rear -Pause- since that came out sounding odd LOL

Tire Rack has a Road Hazard warranty that last for 24 months with the tires I purchased. So I'll actually be getting reimbursed for the tire when I replace it. I know they have a tread minimum though and if it's less then that your warranty is voided.

Just got word from the shop today that they think both rims on the passenger side should be replaced. So they're talking with the adjustor to either have him supplement additional funds over the phone or come out and make another estimate.
I've already picked out a full set of rims that I like for roughly $800. Depending on how much additional funding I get I'll get a nicer set.

FYI - The check was not cut to me directly it was cut to the shop of my choice. I don't know what happens if there is any funds remaining so I will try and max out whatever is given and just absorb the labor out of pocket.

Edit: Changed my mind and I like these below a lot. On sale now at Tire Rack will run me about $1300 for the set.

OE Specs 18s. After this whole debacle I can't fathom going any bigger. My town is pothole central. If I was smart I go down to 17 but I can't stand the look of them on this car.

Update-

Adjustor just called and said he went to the shop to see car up on the lift and he thinks both passenger side rims should be replaced. So he said the total estimate will be around $3900 now. I'm waiting on the official paperwork to come by e-mail today.

Finally got the set of rims and everything delivered to the shop today. I was told it should be done today, the latest tomorrow. I ended up going a totally different route. I saw some AMG rims that I liked a lot and the price ($1,600) was solid. I believe they came on the 2006 E500 or the CL55.

I've seen them around on older models before but I thought they'd look great on my E. I will post pics once I get the car back.

I had narrowed it down to them and a set of chrome Mandrus. They were just to flashy for what I was going for although the pricing was good @ $2,100.

Just got my car back today. It felt like forever. Almost a month of back and forth but it's riding like a champ again.
Here's a pic of what they look like off the car I'll post what they look like on tomorrow. Can anyone nail done exactly what model these are from? I've read everything from 03-06 SL to same years E500
