New W212 Owner and Need Advice

Hey guys!

I had the honor of purchasing a new (to me) 2014 E350 4Matic 'Sport' last week, and I am super excited to get it!! It's at the dealership being gassed up and detailed as we speak, and I should have it delivered to my doorstep NLT Wednesday!!

The car is amazing: still >1 year left of factory warranty and only 24k pampered miles. It looks flawless inside and out; and is fully loaded, with every avail option except for 115V outlet. I got the designo Diamond White over Porcelain interior, with pano roof.

I don't want to go overboard, but some quick mods already planned are:
-Carbon Fiber mirrors
-Black or CF roof spoiler
-Carbon Fiber lower front fascia bits
-Changing woodgrain to designo Bamboo
-Dynomatting the trunk area

...and then comes the wheels. It's already got the upgraded AMG wheel package, and I like them...but I want something a bit more personalized, while not getting too tacky.

I am seriously thinking about black wheels (to give it that mean contrast) but have no clue what to get. I am asking for you guys' advice and options.

Some of the styles I am considering are these as posted by qdub84(1) and BlownS4(2):
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post7110593

as well as these posted by bgruhn76(3):
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post7028745

What do you guys think (I created a poll)? Anyone else with a white E over black wheels, can give suggestions or post some pics of your success.

Also, I know the factory offset numbers are listed in the manual...but what offsets do you guys think looks best? I am fine with the wheels jutting out a bit from the car, just don't want them flush or too tucked inside the fenders (like a Honda Fit or something, lol).

I voted for the first one , since its similar to what i always wanted to get for my benz (niche Targas)
Giovanni wheels are unique tho.

but anyways , why dont you do more searching , and maybe surprise us with a different style/design , possibly similar to ^^ but different, you know? there are hella options out there.

I didn't see pics in the original post and am too lazy and proud of it to click links lol. Wheel offsets will depend on the wheel width and tire sizes you plan to run. Plenty of info on here about those. Aside from the wheels though, I give a on all of the other mod ideas you have.

Yep that's right. In that case, why not just do spacers? I think I read on here that 10mm rear and 5mm front gets them flush with the fenders with no rubbing.

Thanks. Good idea. I read somewhere that spacers tend to cause wheel vibration, especially on luxury cars. Has that not been the case for you guys that have used spacers?

Just make sure the spacers are hubcentric and the right bore and I think you should be fine. I read what the measurement was the other day but can't remember off the top of my head. It's on the forum here somewhere, or somewhere on the internet.

If you would have put "leave stock wheels" I would have voted that way.

Id look at some dark gunmetal wheels too. You can see the shape better than black and still offer the contrast you mentioned...

The Niche Misano looks incredible and are cheap. I had a set. The Rohana rfx5 was my planned replacement due to being lightweight and reasonably priced... the new Vossen vfs5 is GORGEOUS too..

I'd considered all of the above before stumbling across the forged set I picked up instead.

Same here. I think his stock wheels look way better than any of the options mentioned. That particular set is one of the nicer looking ones out there too. The classic 5 spoke look, simple and clean.

And they are higher quality and likely lighter than anything mentioned in a comparable size.... if the oem wheels were a more aggressive offset and in the 20" flavor, they would be perfect! The g wagon AMG wheels are one of my favorites on the w212. I missed an authentic take off set in mpls for 200.00 a couple weeks ago on Craigslist by a matter of hours

Thanks guys! Really appreciate all the comments and advice!
Yea, the Mrs. doesn't know I plan to change anything (yet ), but my parents think I should leave the mirrors white and leave the stock wheels on too! (I had not yet realized how darn good they looked until I looked back at the pic I posted). I did get my mother to agree to some tint and the black hood badge and blacked out rear badges, though. Now only if I can find some discreet seat covers for the bottom portion---dye transfer from my jeans is my biggest nightmare.

Speaking of offset, can I get spacers for the wheels? Will it wobble or hurt the ride quality?

Wow!!! Only $200 for an authentic set of AMG wheels? That's the deal of a lifetime, I know you were kicking yourself.
What do the AMG wheels look like from a G-Wagen? Are you referring to the actual G63/G65 wheels, or wheels from G550 w/ AMG Sport package?

Ok, so I am re-evaluating the black wheel look.
I have now narrowed it down to to other choices...help me decide?

SLS 19" AMG wheels. I tried to find pics of cars the same color as mine to visually...

E63 19" AMG wheels. I tried to find pics of cars the same color as mine to visually...

Here is a pic, below, of my "baby" for context...thanks for your advice guys!

Sweet!! Did you get them Saturday? When are you installing, I'm looking forward to seeing them installed!

So, objectively, if you didn't have the E63 wheels, would you still like the SLS wheels, or no?

I absolutely love the SLS wheels. I really like multispoke wheels of all varieties and started way back with the 20 spoke DTM racing wheels. I think the SLS wheels would look great. Wheels came on Thursday and I ordered 4 TPMS sensors, but they only sent me 2, so now I am waiting on those.

Cool. So you're not able to reuse your existing TPMS? Oh that's right...your maintaining two sets.

Whete did you order the sensors from, I'll probably need a set too.

I ordered the shrader TPMS which is an OEM supplier. They have the MB star stamps on them. The seller is on EBay and I can forward the link. It's a little over a hundred for 4. You can buy cheaper ones but i don't trust the China junk.
