Long road trip question (~1000mls)
Planning on taking a trip to Oceanside/San Diego in a month or around and was thinking of taking the benz there (you know take your car and enjoy the freeway ride and smiles/gallon with style and class lol , i know all of you know what i mean ) do you think its a good idea? Currently have 101kmiles without any issues , also planning on changing the oil before i leave.
Tranny fluid , antifreeze , etc were changed around 60k.
●thoughts?
TIA

If well maintained, and no issue's currently with the car, I can't imagine why you wouldn't. Scan for fault codes before you go and make sure you won't have any surprises! I got my last Range Rover into the 130k-140k range driving back and forth to Colordo from Minnesota and wouldn't have hesitated to do it the day I sadly sold it!
You also do more of your own labor. I'd feel like you are more likely to notice and be aware of any abnormalities with your car than the casual driver

and thanks for inspiring me i just needed a second opinion
I drive to the Bay area almost every weekend and its atleast a 200mls round trip without issues so i figured that it will be just fine on a 1000mls trip.
Range Rovers last that long? i heard they arent reliable at all , always some kind of engine problems and leaks. im talking about a 2008 body style model supercharged.
...yes this is a good point , i would notice.

E 300 AMG-Line diesel-Hybrid - 2021
every year i drive from Marseille to the netherlands in 1 day
It's 1400km (870miles) at 130km/h highway speed
(France-Luxembourg-belgium-netherlands)
After a week I drive back through germany where i drive 200km/h for abt 3.5 hrs
and then Luxembourg-France at 130km/h
Have done this with my C-class (2008/2011), E coupe (2011/2014) and my E sedan (2014/now)
all 3 cars had 1100.000km+ (68.000miles)on the clock after 3 years.
I realise that's still 33k miles less than your car, but never had any problems at all :-)

I do a road trip like the one your planning about twice a year. No worries at all. If you don't know the area you're headed to, it's not a bad idea to look into local shops just in case you have a tire issue and have road hazard coverage with a tire shop chain or stuff like that.

Have your tires and alignment checked before going, bring both keys, and always double check your gps with your phone =D Sometimes the becker system isnt the most reliable for routing.
i had runflats at the time, but since have replaced them and have no spare =D so in my case i would probably throw a spare in there before i went... Mines a diesel but i did a drive from arizona to LA and back in less than 36 hours and it was very nice.

I would not hesitate for a minute to make this trip. Sounds like a blast! These cars, as you know, where designed for exactly this. Hauling out on the open road. Bringing both keys is an excellent suggestion and I always do this when I go on longer road trips.

I go on longer road trips in my 2005 e500 with 170,000+ miles, or my 2011 Hyundai 4.6L Genesis with 202,000+ miles or my 2013 Yukon XL Denali with 120,000+ miles. And yes we drive a lot and have a vacation home on the coast in Florida and make many trips to Florida. So as stated earlier if you have maintained your car and keep a check on the fluids etc, why not take it on the trip. BTW, the my E500 gives the best ride.

I had a Hummer H1, and THAT sir is an unreliable truck for anything other than destroying unpaved road. In a diesel mileage means nothing. But it broke down so often (60k odo) I would be afraid to take it to Tahoe, except I know why its broken and how to fix it enough to move forward.
You're driving a relatively new vehicle. 100k for your vehicle isn't bad, especially considering how young it still is. You also stated your vehicle has no issue, that should be enough for you not to second guess this trip. Enjoy the boring desert scenery and CHP hot spots on your way down, most of all enjoy your car!

Do some basic pre-trip vehicle inspection and go for it.
I took my 14-yr old C240 with 202k miles from Chicago to Ft Myers, which is about 1300 miles. No issues whatsoever. Of course, the same trip was much more fun in a brand new E350 Wagon, but the trusty C held up just fine.

Your car has already traveled 101,000 miles succesfully. Whats another 1000 miles? Hit the road in style and showcase your nice ride. Besides what else are you going to do ? Rent a Chevy Equniox when you own a W212? Oh no Sir.

So a lil update.
Just came home couple hours ago from my trip.
No regrets that i took it out for a trip.
Averaged around 22+ mpg in S mode combined (city driving and freeway 70-100mph speeds )

Well i guess the whole point of all this thread is that i was afraid after owning a BMW , i am scarwd of possibly getting stuck somewhere on the side of the road after a 100k miles it wasnt a reliable vehicle at least in my case and a that got me paranoid that same thing will happen with the benz. But it did its job very well....
