You'll want H7 HID conversion kit. Will need to be canbus variant. We've had lots of w212 customers do this upgrade. We have high end Morimoto HID kits if interested.

They go thru wheel well. I put whole assembly inside oem housing to avoid drilling holes in it. I bought the 6500k kit and very bright, very sharp cutoff. No flicker or anything.

Oh wow so you left the ballast all inside... Was the bulb twist easy to grab on housing. Did you remove wheel and wheel well plastic?? Thanks for this info.

I will say it's not advisable to put the ballast and canbus component inside the housing due to potential heat damage. They rely on ambient cooling from engine air circulation and sealed up in the housing will restrict that function.

No hole to drill...the guys who install my H7 halogen conversion (from AZN) to HID, route the wiring each side to the engine compartment, tied wrap them as close to the light's housing. The light output is good, no error, no flicking...The hard part are grind (or cut) the OEM bulb's ring to fit the HID bulb (which is bigger) after that, everything are (almost) plug & play. Be sure that the location of the ballast must have air to cool it off. Thanks Mike (AZN), I have both ML & E class converse from H7 halogen to HID now.

i also have all the guts shoved inside the housing. been fine since january but i may relocate them before the summer.

We no longer have any of the wider base bulbs, but it's the plastic piece of the bulb at the base where the wires connect to. The previous generation of Morimoto units had the wider base that had issues fitting with some bulb holders. Morimoto has since issued out a new revision that has the plastic base thinner so that it would fit in euro bulb holders.

I did drill a larger hole in the cap to replace the bulbs. I installed the conversion roughly 6 months ago. After i drove straight 6 hrs in the dark I uncapped the housing to check the temp of the ballasts. They were a lil warm as can be expected but nothing I'd worry about.
