Did not read the topic as I am not too much into kids books, but now I see that coincidentally we bought the same cars, but with different engines.
I paid for my car 3 weeks ago and it was delivered to my house yesterday.
2nd car in my life I bough unseen, but looks good and I am looking forward that 45 mpg
Here is my 2014 E250
Long time since I owned 4-banger

Man what a long day. Just got home at 9:30pm after leaving at 8:30am. All good, car checked out flawless, deposit put down and signed contract done. Rallye Motors in Roslyn, NY is where I found the car. Car is going through detailing as I work back here on my end to pay the sales tax and get it registered. After spending a couple hours going over it with I fine tooth comb the only real flaw was it had some tree sap on the hood and the small spring loaded cover that goes over the rear 12v outlet came off and was in the center arm rest. I even had it up on a lift and inspected all of the undercarriage. No issues. All of the above issues will be fixed by the dealer. I also got 1.99% financing and they threw in 2 years of prepaid maintenance. They quoted me an extended 2 year CPO warranty at $2,899 and when I told them I could get it from a member here for $2,500 they price matched it. So as it stands they will get all the paperwork to my insurance agent. And I will go back down in two weeks with the plates and registration. We ended up hooking up with a friend of ours in midtown Manhattan after looking at the car so that is why we got home so late. May 20th is the pick up date. I am exhausted.

We went down as a family but my wife got so nervous with the New York drivers she said she won't go back. So my son and I will go back on the 20th and pick it up. I will give a full write up of my impressions when I pick it up. Anything has to be better than a 10 year old Hyundai Elantra with 198,000 miles on it.

Yes, drove 30+ miles on a mixture of back twisty roads and highway. The car was super tight with zero rattles or squeaks. At one specific stop light, the salesman said we need to get in the right lane up ahead so he told me to put it in sport mode and "punch it" This car jumped out of the hole and pulled so hard! Again I can't see how E63 guys do it. I played with everything in the car. The kids loved the pano roof, I loved the active multi contour seat w/ massage. The parktronic worked awesone. My wife and kids were both amazed the "car parked itself" The lane keep assist and blind spot assist both worked as advertised. The black ash interior looks amazing. Again, gonna be a long 2 weeks.

Don't know about wife being happy in Jeep once she experience MB.
I drove VW for years, so did DW for some time.
Later I bought new ML320 and that was family car and her grocery getter.
Having job 600 miles from home at the time, I bought VW Jetta.
My wife got rear -ended in her MB, that got total, when my long-distance job was ending, so after coming home I offered her Jetta as replacement.
Took her 15 minutes to come back with "No ***** way I am driving that box"

Yeah, the salesman that I dealt with, Anthony Mangiolino, was a true man of his word. He held the car for me without a deposit or contract and made my trip down there a great experience. He is helping me get the necessary paperwork in order for the registration and pick up in 2 weeks. He personally will have the car looked over after they detail it like it was his own. So if you ever go to Rallye Motors in Roslyn, NY ask for "Tall" Tony (he is 6'-8") and I am sure he will make your car buying experience as good as mine. Will definitely post some "post purchase" pics.

Nice, enjoy it.
PS - you got hosed on the extended warranty. Just saying, UNLESS 2014's are WAY more expensive than 2013's. I was well under $2g's for mine. Two words - Jeff Jackson.
