2014 E550 side mirror glass stolen-what route should I take?
Hi everyone sucks to say 3 months in with my new to me car 2014 E550 and already had mirror glass stolen (Blind spot version).
I filed a police report and will call my insurance but I doubt it will be covered unless I pay deductible which is high.
What should I do I checked mb parts department in nyc and driver side is $918 and passenger side is $157.
That cant be right what makes the driver side so expensive?
Not sure what is a cheaper alternative that is as good as oem or better?
Ebay or amazon what to look for?

idk if an earlier model of w212 side mirror glass would work but they start at around 150 and up , that is a whole lot cheaper. id say ebay is the way to go.

+1 on ebay. I mean really - who steals a side mirror. Did they do any damage to the car when removing it?
This is why I keep a low deductible on comprehensive. In my case, the premium increase is small and paying out of pocket for something that isn't your fault like vandalism, etc. just makes it worse.

I am having trouble finding one for 2014 models.
I keep seeing European version but listed as 2010-2012 only.
Is there any difference between 2012 versus 2014 both having blind spot assist.

PM or post VIN to confirm, I believe part #s are left 2128101521 (new $649 + shipping https://www.parts.com), right 2128101421 ($94.40).

Thanks for the help much cheaper price but that is still too high of a price $745 for both so I have to think about it.
I am looking at this one since shipping is faster but he stated no connector on driver side for dimming but has autodimming on post. I am assuming just the ports to connect but I still have the housing and connectors not damaged on my car.
Is this okay or just go with the first link I sent.
Faster shipping but weird description on no connector

link for original one I sent...

Auto dimming for sure is the reason for the price difference. Seems like you already got it under control but I would've suggested to get the Euro version if possible... wider angle view, can see across 3 lanes of traffic if you position it right, and they do come with the blind spot assist feature. And mine were much cheaper than the US version. I have my OEM ones in a box somewhere, but no blind spot assist. As for why they were stolen, "some men just want to watch the world burn"

well at least you have over the shoulder and the rear view is wide enough where you can see too (from my experience w/the W212)
