Airmatic malfunction once and now gone (2014 E550)
Weirdest thing I was driving 4 extra people in my car not a normal thing and a full trunk nothing heavy.
I press the button to comfort from sport while driving with them and I get the air rising icon with malfunction error popping up.
I dropped them off turn off car. Turn back on the car and the error pops up and then goes away.
I drove to work and no error at all.
Is this a fluke or my worst fears about airmatic is coming true now?
Made 4 months with the car and 5000 miles later and the car has been great so far.
Any ideas?

Typical sign of compressor wear out.
Memorize the logics how the system works.
New compressor will reach 160 psi in few seconds.
Wear out compressor will never reach 160psi, or it will take few minutes to inflate the bags.
When empty, the car takes +- 140 psi, so that kind of wear is not a problem.
When you load it, the software is protecting compressor from overheating and after about 90 seconds of running, it will shut it down for about 5 minutes cool down period.
Than comes another run time and after 2-3 attempts when the suspension will not come to proper level, the light will come.
Compressor rebuild kits sell for $15 on ebay.
I have pictorial on it in W211 section.
