Glad you've got it fixed without big trouble. Can you add a picture?
Door dings are territorial/cultural things. I drive 8-14 years old MB without dings.
But years ago I bought BMW 750iL in Los Angeles area. The BMW flagship was about 6 years old at the time and covered with dings.
Since the paint was original, I bought $40 kit with hot glue and small press, who restored over 80% of those dings, but that sure took lot of time.

Which dealer in VA did you go to? I'm moving across the Potomac this fall and would like to have a good stealer in mind for when I take mine in... although I'm coming out of warranty around the same time so I'll be looking for indys as well.

My dealer is in Richmond. Been going there for years, build good relationships with most of the veterans there. The one in DC is nice too... can't think of the name, but it is the one that has the cars stacked up on top of each other on the lifts.

Bit too far for me, then. I didn't like the one in Alexandria (if that's which one you're talking about)... don't recall any cars on lifts there though, so maybe not. Guess I'll have to do some searching.

Dings/dent removal kit. It is almost foolproof. If you have factory paint, it will pull sheet metal on flat areas. Going close to the corner is where it fails.

Doesn't look like the kit comes with hot glue gun.
Aldo get some different strength glue and start with weak one.

Yeah, instead of them being on a 'lot', the cars are stacked on top of each on a shelf system; sort of futuristic, when you want to see a car, they dial in the stock number and bring the car down for you.

Designo diamond white - paint damages
Hi
I'm new to posting, but got similar issue with my Designo diamond white baby. It really hurts, thinking about it every day (things that can trigger me to change car again)- that I got paint damages, scratches and flinges from flying objects/sand/tire studs etc hitting the front.
On all my previous cars its been possbile to fix this myself with reasonable success! On this designo white, I made attempts, with terrible results. How to fix these paint damages? My attempts resultet in both bad covering (darker dots) of damage and colour (yellowish) results.
How to do this properly? (every winter in Sweden creates lots of these small hits.
Also noted that the dealer made damages when they changed rear window recently, and their paint jobb lock really bad (official MB dealer/importer in Sweden) - I will of course complain since it was warranty work, but still don't trust them.
How to fix? (myself?)
Anyone knowing a good paint shop in Stockholm (Sweden) area? (that can/willing to fix this paint and smaller damages).
I read the current thread and happy it all looks good for you again ! would be very greatful for input.
/Christian

hey Christian,
Sorry to hear about your baby. I feel your pain, literally. This paint is very beautiful, and very high maintenance. As far as DIY paint repair, I will not and cannot recommend or provide advice, as I didn't do mine myself. I do know, however, that the touch-up paint is a 3-stage process and at $30 USD, it's the most expensive touch-up paint to buy.
If you're concerned with your dealer's credibility, I'd recommend letting the dealership do it (paying for the service, and get your SA to explicitly write it on the service order); that way, if something goes wrong, or you are not satisfied, you can claim it under their MB 2-year parts & labor warranty at any MB dealership.

Thanks for your thoughts, probably wise, so even if having been good and perfectionistic about fixing thing right a way -i might need t stop that and accept that I can not repaint the whole front every year, need to live with a few dark holes/paint damages, until there are "enough" of the to get it fixed (there plenty of them after a winter and spring i Sweden).
now I need to get the test repairs fixed somehow.
Have a good day
Christian
And yes I do love this design colour very much, goes very well with the AMG wheels/package and the Night package!

Here's some paint pain to share as well
I'm going to be replacing rotors/pads as soon as the parts arrive, but I wanted to inspect the inner pad on the right front wheel. These are my nice recently refinished wheels.....
I loosened the wheel bolts but found that the wheel was a bit stuck to the rotor, happens sometimes. I typically put a bit of anti-seize behind the wheel but its been awhile. Anyway, I just used a rubber mallet behind the tire to give it a couple taps to knock it loose.
In my head, I "remembered" leaving a couple of bolts threaded in slightly to keep the wheel from falling. In reality, ALL the bolts were loose.
So...... wheel pops off and falls face down right on the driveway. Every one of the 5 spokes got dinged from my stupidity.
The good news is that the wheel can be easily fixed and matched. What gets me more than someone else messing up my car is when I do it.

Tresean1,
Would you please show us a close-up shot of the painted up area?
I have a paint chip on my car. I brought the car to a couple auto body shops and they were not able to find any paint that matches the Diamond White on my car.
Thanks a lot,
kfc2

There's a guide bolt (not sure the technical term for it) in the roadside kit in the trunk. It's where the tow hook and stuff is, embedded in there. I found mine the other day when I was messing around with it... after I had already bought some off Amazon... I always forget to use them lol

kfc2,
I don't have any close-up shots, as I am not at home with the car...but your authorized Mercedes dealership should sell the genuine MB touch-up paint in the Parts Dept. That should match your paint.

Other place to get paint is automotivetouchup.com or touch up direct.com. They will mix paint and ship to you.

Hi Tresean1,
I have the MB Diamond White touch up kit (3 in 1) and it doesn't match the paint color at all. I tried that before going to the local body shop and asking for help. They all said that it is impossible to match the color with anyone touch up paint. I also tried Dr. chip and had similar results.

1. Difference in shade
2. Difficult to orient pearl/metallic particles
3. You may have excess particles on your brush or when you go to fill area.
4. The original paint is 3 stage rather than 2
