Factory warranty about to expire on my 2014 E550 sedan; what should I get checked?

Hello, everyone. As the title states, my warranty is about to expire and I'd like to know what I should get checked out (engine, trans, seats, moldings, trim, etc.) I haven't had a single issue with my E550, but will appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance!!

I'd have them check the suspension...I just replaced my rear bags...1,700 bucks. They were leaking.

Check Front covers on cylinder head for oil leaking. I just have my MY14 E350 fixed at a dealer no cost.

Interesting. How many miles are on your car?
Did they notice the leak or did you, or did you tell them to do a random check?

Motor and trans mounts, and if you have any concerns about future issues, the warranty extensions are reasonable if purchased through one of the guys mentioned in the extended warranty thread.

Jeff is the man, I try and stay out of recommending as I know there are a handful, but he was by far the best price of all the people. Whoops, so much for not recommending

My car has 32000 miles. I'm just lucky to discover the oil leak when I tried to retrieve the nut which I dropped into the front of the engine. I opened the plastic front cover and the sheet metal which cover the power steering motor then I saw the little oil at the bottom. You couldn't see the leak if just looking at the engine.

Wow, thanks. Shame this is happening on a car with such low miles; mine only has 25k mi and now I am concerned. Did they mention (or do you know) if this is a common problem on 2014s, or isolated to your vehicle?

If you have the burl wood, check to see if the wood trim is faded by comparing the portion inside the door hinge side against the rest. This was a common issue prior to 2011 but I have heard of later models with the same issue.

How is the battery holding up? At $300 a pop, it's worth asking them to check if you've had any issues (real or not).

Good one, my 2cents, the fading has to be upto a certain limit, in order for MB to consider as warranty replacement. Also, they do not weigh in much, as it not a safety issue.

I think TreSean1 mentioned in another post, a load test should suffice, but, tell them, it is taking time for the Eco to come up, even after a long ride and taking a rest room break, the charge doesn't hold up.

Anyway, at least make them aware of it, for future references

I see it. Doesn't look bad though but could get worse in time. What has the dealer said? On earlier models, the customer had to complain for them to do anything. I had an SA tell me once that they were not permitted to point it out to a customer even if they noticed it.

The SA said, it is not faded enough, for MB to consider it as a warranty replacement.
Also, this is not in their first preference, since, it is not a safety issue

They've covered it for past models even though it is not a safety issue. And how do they measure whether is is bad enough or not - is there some sort of faded wood scale? If you the customer are unhappy than it is an issue they should address. If this SA doesn't think it is faded, then try another SA or dealership as it doesn't cost you anything to try.

I think they covered it under the bumper to bumper warranty. I think if the dealer doesn't want to cover it, you have to call MB to make them cover it. It's considered cosmetic which the bumper to bumper warranty covers, but the extended warranty doesn't so it's your only shot to get it done.

true, that was my arguement that day.
Anyway, I have to take the vehilce again sometime next week, as, there was a recall/recommendation by MB to the previous owner (back in 2016), about some harness for radar senors or other sensors in the back bumper needs replacement.
Which will be re-assessed and will be replaced or whatever, so, I'll mention about.
1. Wood trim,
2. Aux battery, to do a load test, as ECO takes time to activate,
3. Bluetooth streaming still skips, while playing on iOS.
4. Rear parking sensors doesn't recognize walls while parking.
and few more..!

BTW, with the new firmware upgrade, one important feature has been fd up.
While driving forward, the 360 Camera used to display upto 17mph or 19mph, now it is limited to 10mph.

The problem is, while pulling into a parking and driving at 15mph, I cannot activate the camera, I have to drop it to 10mph or less, in order to calculate the curb, etc. that is fing ridiculous, In my experience.

to the OP, make sure there is no rust under the vehicle..!

My vehicle is initially from NYC and the SA said, there is some rust(the vehicle definitely seen some salt), but that is not something alarming, and they can't do anything about that.

I don't know the amount/size/level of rust personally, so, anyone, what is your take/experience/suggestion on this matter? Doesn't MB care/prevent further rust?

I have a question. What exactly is considered Bumper to Bumper, and what exactly is considered cosmetic. Are these terms subjective? I know that a bumper to bumper warranty is supposed to cover pretty much everything in the car to the owner satisfaction, but it's owner satisfaction subjective in the eyes of Mercedes-Benz?

I have an issue with the leather seat in my car and Mercedes is kind of being hesitant on covering it under warranty

Not sure about the seat, you'd have to read the extended or CPO warranty to see exactly what it covers. It doesn't cover as much as the factory warranty which is the bumper to bumper warranty with very few exclusions. The wood has come up many times and many times it wasn't covered under the extended or CPO warranty unless it was just bought and then sometimes was covered under CPO through goodwill.
