I brought it to mercedes.
i believe the leather was $350 in that ballpark
and another $350 for labor .
so maybe $700/$800 all together I forget

I think there's an older thread on here that talks about how the seat cover is about $220-$240 online plus an upholstery shop can install it for around $150.

Now get your wood trim replaced. That is about the worst fade I have ever seen.

ericwudi0830 07-14-2017 01:49 PM

impeccable fix. really steep though even though its on a mercedes

Not surprised at the price, nothing about these cars is cheap. Bet the dealer would want $2,500 to $3,000 for the wood replacement. DIY will always be cheaper but not everyone wants to go that route.

They probably want more like $4k or more. The wood kit alone list for $2750 which is probably what a dealer would charge although you can get it on line for the low price of $1925.

Yikes, I would rather save the money and call it beech wood instead of burl wood..

The joke is on you my friend - my fade is worse than that guy's.

cetialpha5 07-14-2017 10:06 PM

You just missed a new set that sold on eBay for $440, they have some used sets at around $225, but some of it is faded and some have broken clips.

You don't have any links, do you? All I find when I search are a few panel pieces and steering wheels.

cetialpha5 07-14-2017 10:35 PM

Here's the completed one for $440.

Nice before and after pics...was it covered under warranty or did you have to pay out of pocket?

Yeah, I didn't mention it earlier because I thought it'd be a good deal if I could get it for under $400 but it went way above that for me. I got a set earlier for $225, but it was a better one, only had one broken clip and just slightly faded, still way better than what I had on there before.

Don't blame you for not wanting more bidders. I am skeptical of a new set for that price but the pictures show them wrapped and the box with part number. Still seems odd to get a $2k part for just over $400.
