My daily commute to work is 150 miles round trip. 98% of that is highway, the rest is 50-55 mph back roads. I think there might be a total of 10-15 turns during my entire commute that would require applying my brakes. When I get home and on the weekends we use my wife's jeep for trips around town and I will occasionally take out mine if the need arises. So I am not hard on the brakes at all. On a positive note, while I was typing this response, the SA from MB of Springfield just called me a said they will be replacing my brakes AGAIN under a "defective part" warranty. They too feel I got a bad sets of rotors. This time they actually did a run out test and found them to be warped. The last time I just complained to MB USA and they called the dealership and had them replaced without even checking the rotors. So they have my car until the day after Christmas.

2014 E550-sold 😩
Ok, good. Not all parts are created equal and hopefully you will get back on the road with no issues moving forward!

They don't have to be warped.
I have seen it once in my life and that was MB rotor that had different material density.
You could see different colors in about 3 spots on the rotors. After few thousands miles, the pads wear out softer material, when the harder was catching the pads.
That can be done only by inconsistent casting.
Never have seen that flaw in Chinese rotors

I told them the brakes were warped when I took ownership of the car at 21,000 miles, MB replace them under warranty at 32,000 miles, now at 40,000 miles they feel warped again. I explained to them this has to be a manufacturer defect in the rotors themselves. If anyone has any documentation other than what was already given to me by konigstiger regarding defective 2014 E550 brakes/rotors I would greatly appreciate it.
Sorry to hear your troubles. My brakes are starting to experience this same thing @26k miles.

This may be a question for konigstiger too: but does this issue only happen to E550's? Does it affect E350's also? Can you share the documentation given to you by konigstiger regarding defective 2014 brakes/rotors? I'll need leverage when I speak to my SA.

When I purchased my CPO 2011 E550 I had a friend run a VMI to see what the dealer actually did to the car prepping it for CPO. The VMI indicated that the rotors and pads had been replaced. After about 6000 miles the brakes were shuttering. I took the car back to the dealer and told them it was unacceptable and that the VMI indicated they had just replaced the rotors. The dealer agreed to replace them again. This time they lasted about 20,000 miles before they started shuttering again but much worse than the first time. I decided to replace them myself with a EPC rotors and pads. So far, so good, but time will tell. I have owned a lot of cars in my 61 years and have never had brake rotors warp under normal every day driving. I expect better from MB.

There are a number of manufacturers who have had trouble with warping rotors and is certainly not limited to Mercedes. Cadillac had a huge problem around 2000 as well as BMW. They have tried to lower the weight of the rotors and this caused warping often during the transition. Improper torquing of wheels when rotated or removed for any reason also caused a problem.
