Noise from engine compartment with car off. Should I be concerned?

2014 E350 sedan. Engine off - key out. Making a whining noise from the engine compartment (front/low). Sounds like something running??? Can feel a vibration through the hood. Do I need to be concerned?
Fire hazard?
Battery hazard?
Any advice/help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

LED lighting cool down fans. Lock the car and they should stop running within a short time.

whining noise from the engine compartment is usually the technician from a stealership after a service and nothing else was needed to be fixed.so no extra cash for them LoL

Hey, if you let the car cool down for about 30 to 45 minutes, it'll go away :)

Is the noise still occurring with the key in the ignition, or the key out of the ignition? or is it keyless-go?

That could have some affect on it...I know there are sounds under the engine with the key in, and after removing it (mines a w212 with no keyless go) after a few mins the whine goes away. There are a multitude of noises but the vibrations your describing dont sound good...

How long does it go for? maybe listen with a stopwatch

My 2015 does it too without the key in the ignition and I don't have full LED light package. I hear it come when I open the door or hood. I always wonder if this will drain the battery.

You don't need full LED lighting package for this to be unique, as the E-class has low beam LEDs also.
