Aux sound problem
Good evening. Since yesterday evening, îve got a problem. The aux sound is coming only on the right front speaker. Could you help me please ? |
wiggle the cables and see if the sound comes back. For me the Aux cable is messed up as the left and right channel wires are touching and I'm getting mono sound because of it. If I wiggle the cable one channel cuts out or makes scratchy noise. The Aux cable that comes with the unit is really really bad quality. I will soon desolder it and install my own.

Has anyone rooted the unit?
If so how? It doesn't have a power button so I can't even get into Recovery. I downloaded Kingroot but it failed the root it. I'd prefer to do it using Magisk anyway but as I can't get into Recovery I can't use it. |
OK, so i'm about to do my second install of this unit. Couple of questions:
* Did we ever figure out how to stop version 2 from resetting and having to reload everything? * Is there a way to make the mileage, suspension, and parking sensor buttons work on the screen? * I saw somewhere that this unit supports B41. Sprint uses B41. Has anyone tried a Sprint SIM in this? (https://www.frequencycheck.com/bands...and-41-td-2500) * Has anyone plugged a microphone into this? do you do it through USB? Does it improve phone quality? * The two black paddles are wifi antennas, correct? If the unit is incompatible w US 4G bands, can i leave this off? * Anyone have the newest firmware that they are willing to share? |

Mine works perfectly fine? Don't know what the issue is with everyone elses? I mean I only had to get the 2019 W205 C43 instead lol

The V1 unit can be rooted Via Kingroot. While the V1 probably needed the root in order to enable Apps to SD card feature due to low internal storage, I see no good reason to root the V2 unit as the 3-5 apps you wanna put on this unit already fit just fine. If you're trying to install 50 apps on this unit, then I think that's not really the point of an automotive head unit. Do you really wanna play Asphalt 8 on this thing?
Also, Rooting will render a lot of apps inoperable. For instance, as soon as I rooted my V1, Tidal music refused to let me sign in with a message saying that the app is forbidden on rooted devise, same for a couple of other apps. Spotify worked fine though. I still think that the best use of this unit is for it to be a gateway to Carplay and or Android AUTO, because when you run apps through that, they are already optimized for car use and you dont have to deal with wonky UI elements and tiny hard to push buttons because the app thinks the head unit is a phone. |
I want to change my car, put my Mercedes class image and replace Mercedes class gla image. This is possible with root and apk editor. Before I do this with Android 5.1, please like to root with android 8. |
this video shows you how to Root. I would only suggest you do it if you have the V1 unit because rooting comes with many negatives.
Also, rooting will not let you customize icons, you will need a new launcher for that, and that will make it look like an Android phone, it will no longer look like a car head unit. |

My banking app works just fine on my Android phone even though ti is rooted. Magisk does "systemless" rooting, so it's able to hide the fact that device is rooted. |

If you use Magisk to root it has a feature where you can hide root from applications.

Enable adb debugging on your deviceTo use adb with a device connected over USB, you must enable USB debugging in the device system settings, under Developer options.Connect your computer with the Android into a wifi network |
stupid noob question
Hello everyone!! this may sound dumb. has anyone tried to just install this 10.5 inch screen strictly for the bigger screen experience? Is that even possible? Thats my biggest let down with my 2015 E63 AMGs....that little ass screen! I'm happy with controls and features, bells and whistles. dont really even care about touch screen functionality. I just would really like a bigger screen. any suggestions from the group?

Larger screen
That's exactly why I changed mine, in my GLK it looks 100% better! And as a bonus everything works!

Can someone help with this? So my wife got a 2019 C43 with the 10.25" factory screen and it is simply perfect! I don't plan on using the factory navigation or anything but just want to use carplay, music interface, few things. Is it worth getting just for non-nav incompatibilities?

Anyone figured out how to change the DPI ?
The top and bottom ribbon in Goofle Maps and other apps are taking up too much space because of "bad" resolution/DPI |
