Thank you for the reply Chris. Maybe I should have contacted you to make the purchase, but did not realize the price was similar since I would not need to pay the VAT. I did contact the seller and it seems this may be the harness for the C Class sedan and not the E Class. Will await his reply.

Just installed this on my 2010 C300 and so far I'm loving it. It seems auto audio switching from OEM radio audio to lets say youtube doesn't work. I thought it was working the other day but today it isn't. I'll check it again.

Also, although it says I have 12gb internal storage left, it will not let me install additional apps besides waze, swiftkey, iheart radio. It tells me I need to make more room to install new apps. I want to install supersu to confirm root so I will probably delete waze for now. If it is rooted, I will just use Foldermount to move app data to sd card.

UPDATE: Tried switching from stock radio to youtube and audio did not auto switch. Changed the setting from BT to Aux again just to see if that would make a difference but did not.

I uninstalled Waze and installed supersu and Folder mount and supersu says I'm not rooted. So I guess for now I'm stuck with limited app install.

Well,.. if Silicon Valley guy is dropping the flag on the unit, I don't think I want to spend my money on it.
Time to check Tom-Tom GPS units...

Dont forget to backup the system, which is super easy since it is already rooted. The HI text is there when the AC is at the highest settings and LO at the lowest, it should change when you use AC but it seems like there is an issue with canbus communication. Climate info shows up fine in my CLS.
Just wondering how you determined it is rooted?

Weird. Got into my car again for lunch and audio auto switch worked again from OEM radio to youtube. Then I switched back to OEM Radio then back to youtube and it didn't auto switch. So i thought maybe it only works after a reboot so I did a restart on the android side under settings > system. Car was still on and Radio still playing while screen rebooted. After complete reboot, went to youtube again and still audio didn't auto switch.

Will try it again when I'm off work when the car has not been restarted for a few hours. Maybe once the car has completely shut down is when it will work.

The unit is NOT rooted (at least mine wasn't). I did manage to root it using kingroot (very easy). I too was running into the space limitation problem, I used app2sd to move all my apps to sdcard. you must be rooted for this to work. I now have enough space to install various offline navigation apps. My favorite so far is 'offline maps & navigation' it is absolutely free, no ads and has a pretty decent voice guidance system, it also allows you to download offline maps and store them on external sdcard (I downloaded entire North America maps and saved on 32GB SDCard) the only downside is the app does not appear in the unit's list of nav apps, therefore you can not select it as the default nav app, you will always have to run it from the applications folder, I found that only a handful of nav apps available can be recognized for selection - Google Maps, Igo, Waze & Sygic. While browsing the root folder I found a settings file that appears to control what nav applications appear on the selection list, I will try to tweak it to see if I can add more entries to the list. Meanwhile, I am looking for a way to change some of the UI graphics to correct some minor language issues. Before making any changes be sure to backup your unit, I would not recommend messing with any of these if you are not familiar with android tweaking/rooting process.

Thanks for the reply. I actually found out about kingroot working on the Avin BMW android units a few days ago but only got the nerve to try it on our units this morning and it worked. Glad it's done without any pc and running adb commands etc. I was using Foldermount but found another app to move app to sd but it isn't app2sd but still works the same. Will update my post once I get into my car. I did however only move youtube since it was the only app taking over 200gb +. The rest are just double digit so I left them alone for now. So I now have room for apps. I've been rooting and familiar with flashing roms via customer recoveries etc for quite some time now since samsung s3 days although I haven't rooted anything for over 2 years now. So if there is anything new out there, I will not be familiar with them. Did you use customer recovery to back up the rom?

Also luckily, I have 10gb hotspot on my phone plan so I just Waze for navigation. What did you mean about found what nav app shows up in the selection? As in the home screen first selection "Navigation"? But yes that would be great if we can add more without going into apps. Let me know!

I also wanted to point out a good app called X-plore. Since I use my phone as a hot spot (essentially making my phone and screen be on the same network) I am able to make my phone as a server so the Android screen can access my files or movies on my phone over Wi-Fi and play them. No need for external usb drive. App needs to be installed on both.

Now, one of the ebay vendors is offering this unit with a front DVR included.
Chris, are you making progress on this front?
Also, I have to believe that the Avin units for BMW are of the same origin and they offer an array of extras, among which front DVR, but also a carplay adaptor.

Also, I've noticed that the guy that posted the youtube installation video (are you in this thread?), took down the display, briefly commented that he's replacing it with a better up-coming display, then took down that comment.
Is anybody making progress with the units conversion to imperial?

Are you guys having issue any of these issues?

1. Sometimes I get a completely black screen and the home and back screen button will pop in and out of the screen every 2 seconds?

2. Sometimes the OEM screen won't show and it's just black. I can still access the android side however.

They happen quite often and a bit annoying as I will have to shut the car off and wait about 5 min before I can restart the car. Otherwise the android system doesn't shut down so it can reboot properly.

So I bought a bluetooth OBDII scanner that plugs into my OBDII. This way I can see information such as RPM, speed, boost, temp etc on the screen. Except I can't get it to pair. When I go to my bluetooth setting, I see the OBDII on the list but when I try to pair, it won't pop up the screen to where I can enter the pairing code. Do you guys know of any bluetooth OBDII devices that do not require a pairing code?

This is the one I bought originally but kept coming off.
Amazon Amazon

This is the new one which was a firmer fit and doesn't come off.

UPDATE: Solved my issue
Found this app to pre program pin code for bluetooth connections. Well worth the $1.99 price tag for what I'm trying to accomplish.

I purchased Torque Pro from the play store and here is a screen shot.

Not sure I like the interface of Torque Pro so I will keep searching for one that I like.
