Hi, does anyone know if these are worth an upgrade ? I tried searching around but did not find anything .
It says plug and play but it also says you need to swap out the LED modules.

Pretty nice find for those of us that do not have the full led lighting package!
I have purchased lighting from fishcake for my C63 in the past and he was very responsive and easy to work with. I don't know anything about this particular setup but maybe others will chime in..
Good point KEY08, and nor would you have the auto high-beam as the factory full led setup has. I still think it's a solid looking setup and appears nicely executed.
I think you may be the first, if you go this route. I don't remember anyone else posting this mod in recent past. The price seems very reasonable if it is indeed plug and play and avoids a trip to the dealer for coding. If I did not have the full LED, I would give this some serious consideration. The day time arrow look is worth it alone.
The only problem is that here you are replacing a perfectly fine new OEM high quality headlamps with cheap Chinese knockoff for your high end German car.
The only situation where I would consider this is if both of your headlights are damaged and need replacement and your insurance refuses to pay for a brand new replacement but will only offer used / refurbished ones for replacement.
Yeah insurance would never pay for a brand new part unless used/aftermarket are not available. But it also makes sense because it's not a new car.
There always seems to be a stigma of Chinese parts or aftermarket parts = bad part. May be true for some but not all. There are tons of a/m that meet oem specs out there. Question is does this headlamp mentioned above meet those specs. Very good price if it works though, and you always have the originals to fall back on.
OP if you do follow through and get these, please keep us updated on quality and satisfaction over time. Would love to know.
Also browsing through the post there seems to be quite a few used full led lamps available anywhere from 400-800 a piece, may be worth a shot to go oem if anything.

OEM full LED headlamp is likely out of contention since it has different wiring adapters - (also to account for the active curve illumination function), and would likely need programming of the SAM unit from the dealership. These aftermarket are usually plug and play, but you never know if the lighting provided is adequate / safe or fully complaint with laws. Headlights are a vital safety equipment for your car. I would be very careful to mess around with them, unless you really know what you are doing. Remember a human eye could not consistently differentiate poor headlamp lighting from good one. They have to be tested by appropriate machinery in various test conditions and I doubt this will be the case here.

This is a good point, but you have to remember the upgraded MB LED lighting package is the only set to be top rated by the NHTSA's lighting test, while the standard LED lights did not receive this rating. I'm more concerned about longevity than light output. I've seen far too many aftermarket headlights with only one headlight operating
The manufacturing company, DEPO, has been in business for over 30 years and has a good reputation and they use a projector housing rather than refracting setup the standard LED lights use.

You need to remove the front bumper for the headlights to come out.

You dont technically need a hoist, just two jack stands will do. Just a few screws and clips that hold the bumper to the under cover. It looks crazy hard but it’s pretty simple. Probably the hardest part would be removing the screws that hold the bumper to the fender on the sides.
Ok, I finally took the plunge and got them installed at a local shop. I also went and installed the illuminated star myself :-). See attached photos.
They look nice, although I do have an issue with the driver side led "tubes" (couldn't think of the right word) in that they flicker when I start the car. When the engine is turned off, the flickering stops. This only happens on the driver side with the "tubes" and the low and high beams look fine (i.e. they don't flicker even after the car has started). Any ideas as to what might be causing it?
WOW, they look great!!!! Glad that someone finally did this! Can you post pics of how the beam cutoff's look at night? As for the flickering, no idea. Sounds like possibly a loose connector from shipping? Or something internal in the headlight housing?

I have reached out to the ebay seller and they are going to check with the vendor (DEPO) and get back to me on the flickering (and it is actually the passenger side and not the driver side - my mistake). I will post pics of the beam cutoffs in the next few days. I still need to perform some alignment
