A few issues with my 2015 e400
Hello gents .. I purchased my 2015 e400 with 50600k really fully loaded ..love the car .. purchased from a non mercedes dealer no warranty left on it but I did purchase a 3rd party warranty for it ...car has a few issues .. the first thing is .. has small vibration when I'm ready to take off on drive mode , mostly it does it when I'm in sport mode ..the dealer changed 2 engine mounts and spark plugs .. I haven't driven the car as I haven't gotten back yet .. dealer says all that has helped with the vibration..so in simple terms it's still there .. second issue is the Eco start stop .. it works intermediate.. the dealer changed some kind of module that sits behind the steering wheel.. after all that the Eco stop still works only intermediate.. I've read that the Eco stops doesn't work all the time ..is this true ? All my other benzs never had this crappy feature that honestly I don't really care for but since the car came with it I feel that it should work properly..... When I mean dealer I mean the service dept at the dealer I purchased it from .. so now the dealer sent the car to the local mercefes-Benz dealership to get the 2 issues looked at .. they had the car since Thursday afternoon, I got a call from the dealer I purchased it from saying that Mercedes found no issue with the car .. so going to speak to them tomorrow and the dealer going to give me a run down on what Mercedes actually checked and I guess I'll take it from there .. so my question is , did any of you have any of these issues? And by the way the HOLD feature does work so I know it's not the aux battery . My biggest issue is the vibration... Even if it's very subtle in 20 thousand miles from now it can turn into a huge shake

There's also the transmission mount. There's 2 engine mounts. Also carefully check the CV axles, seems that aftermarket axles can cause a vibration. Otherwise there's a bunch of other things that may cause the vibration, dealer just has to check a bunch of front end parts, drivetrain etc. I believe eco start/stop can take a while to kick in when you first start it. Either that or the aux battery is no good, that's also very common for the aux battery to be replaced. If the aux battery is bad, eco won't kick in.

I did mention the tranny mounts to the tech at the dealer.. he said they were fine .. the battery seems to be ok as the HOLD Feature still functions as it should .. it amazes me that most of these techs have a hard time diagnosing issues if the CEL light ain't on, I guess in all fairness these cars are so complex if the car doesn't speak to them via error codes there's nothing much they can do ... At this point I'm actually thinking of trading her in .. I'll see what the dealer tells me tomorrow.. shame because I'm really digging the car and love the fact that it has most of the options that I wanted ..

Does it have a vibration when at idle or while driving? While driving it could be a bent rim or tire out of balance. At idle, that's usually the mounts first, drive train or other suspension component second.

It happens as soon as I release the brakes ..only at low idle .. once I take off it runs just fine

That's interesting, haven't heard of any issues with this motor. Did they indicate what could have caused it? I wonder if there's a known flaw with the design?

@bigjule... new here. Purchasing a 2015 E400 on Saturday still under warranty for another year. Has 26k on the clock. What 3rd party warranty did you go with and I saw they covered your valve issues. Please share the info as MB is not like bmw (allow you to purchase extended warranty despite not being the Original Owner). TIA

Funny I asked the tech the same question and he couldn't give me a answer .. all I know the car was 1 owner off lease vehicle that looks like it was well taken cared of .. maybe the original owner used regular gas amd that caused part of the problem? Don't really know .. all I know that next time I won't buy any car with any issue .. as when I purchased it there mechanic told me it seemed to b just the engine mounts which I thought seemed odd but who am I .. so I went with the purchase on the grounds that the small tremble gets satisfied ..boy I was wrong as they threw engine mounts aND new spark plugs and nothing worked ..... So then that's when I took it to my local mercedes dealer
