Backup Camera Not Available
There are times when I get a message that the backup camera is not available. Doesn't seem to follow any particular pattern that I can discern, and it becomes available as suddenly as not available. Any solutions??

^^ this as first check.
I had the same thing last year. I got back there and disconnected the connector at camera harness, added a bit of dielectric grease and reconnected. No issues since. IMO the connect/disconnect process helps clean the contacts, the grease maybe helps reduce future oxidation.

Is the connector located very near the camera or more forward, near the chassis wiring harness, the other end of the camera harness?

Have you tried rebooting comand by holding in power button until screen/unit cut out? Those reboots help if comand gets buggy.

Anyway, my car is like super man and the evil eye is the kryptonite.
I left it under the sun and things started working again.

Glad to hear it is working again. It seems to me at least that comand goes into suspend/sleep mode when the car is turned off but it still uses some power. Whereas the hard reset of comand cuts full power to comand and it goes through a full reboot which helps with some bugs.

I recall that it is located inside the trunk lid lining. There is another thread about locating and checking the connector.
