2010 Sedan W212 E250 CGI muffled rattle noise
Hi all,
2010 Sedan W212 E250 CGI muffled rattle noise
I can bet that you have not had this on your car! I have it all, no worries!
Australia, right hand drive.
On deceleration only, at speeds between 50 and 45 kph (31 to 27 mph) I can hear a muffled rattling noise from the the passenger
side external mirror area, while my passenger hears that same noise at the same time from driver's side external mirror area!
It occurs during most drives. Sometimes it does not rattle despite no change in driving, load, tyre pressure. Radio on or radio off, same story.
tried varying tyre pressure, but no change. Steering left or right during rattling, no change. Braking or not, same thing.
I've attached a recording from a phone positioned above passenger side seat. You might have to put the volume up in order to hear it.
Several short recordings one after the other.
Figure that one out!
Thanks
Milo

Hi all,
Problem solved. The noise was coming from the drive shaft's centre support bearing. Bearing replaced. all OK now.
