audi wheels for 4matic 14 W212
Hello guys, I'm at 5/32 on the treads for my stock 17 setups. I learned Audi and VW wheels fit our vehicles so, here is my question.
Will 245/40/R18 Audi A5 wheels (non-staggered) fit my 2013 E350 4Matic without any problems? Do I need spacers?
Also, will the Mercedes wheel center hub inserts works on Audi's center caps too?
Specifically this model:

1. Modern Audi's CB is 66.5mm, while MB's is 66.56mm. Yes even half of mm could be a problem (fitting MB wheel on Audi hub is not a problem).
2. MB center caps are 75mm (3"), Audi's are much smaller (I believe 68mm or so), so no center caps will not fit, but one can buy aftermarket MB 68mm stickers.

also, what is this cap called at 4:00 mins into the video. The above wheels I mentioned comes with Audi star fish style center hub cap, which resembles the ones in the video. Hopefully the mercedes hub cover fits on these audi wheels too. I know I'm asking too much

Thanks for quick response.

you'll need spacers to run the Audi wheels. The hub projects much more on the MB and it won't allow the cap to snap in. 10mm works fine.

I have Audi wheels and have no issue with them fitting. I am not running spacers and currently haven’t found mb center caps.

adapters would only be used if you have different bolt patterns.
You have 3 things to look at. Center bore, bolt pattern, offset.
Audi switched to 66 cb sometime around 09 or so. Anything before that you want to double check. Not sure if VW has switched yet. I think they might still be 57.1.
Audi VW and Merc all are 5x112 bolt pattern. Offsets are similar usually mid 40s-50. I might run a 10mm spacer in rear to make the wheel flush to fender. Haven’t really gotten the motivation to try it yet. Been busy with house stuff.
Older Mercedes used 12mm bolts to bolt down the wheels. So that can be a problem when talking about early 211 or 210s. All the newer stuff shouldn’t be a issue.

vdubbG, please share a link on what those 10mm spacers and where can I buy them.
I saw a pair for 100$ on eBay, but someone recently posted a pic sharing their broken spacers. So, I'm kind of worried.

or any other? please help. thanks in advance.

10 mm spacers are the trickiest as you loose hub flange, while 10 mm is not giving enough material to make new one.
Meaning your wheels will be centered on bolts and that might be not good enough.

i would definitely not buy a spacer without a hub centric ring built in it. The ones you gave me a link to show no ring on the 10mm. Not only is that unsafe, it will cause a lot of vibration. You could do it for 3-5mm, not for 10 though.

I am currently running a set of 42 draft design spacers. Given to me from a friend that had a S4. I have used H&R and ECS brand on my past VWs. Those are all 57.1cb so I cant use them on this car obviously. Any of these I would feel comfortable with. I wouldn’t do eBay, although there are probably lots of people using them.

I found these from ECS and I believe we need it for all 4 wheels, not just rear?

This is the first time I see such spacer design on ECS site. There is no cylindrical flange, but taper only. That gives bigger margin for error when you have some dirt. Would be interesting to read some reviews, but ECS is not posting reviews on their site, even they have the option on the site.
I made review for the new scanner and they never posted it and never contact me about it.
Correction. I recheck the scanner and seems several weeks after I send the review, it is on the site.
BTW seems after my review ECS drop the scanner price by 25%.

one last question, my understanding is VDUBBG is running stock setup for Audi wheels on his 4Matic wagon. Only thing he needs spacers is for looks only. Is that correct or will it cause any handling issues?

Spacers for looks are still spacers and will have the same concerns.
I like to play with wheels and was tempted with cheap AMG wheels from S-class, but at final point when I calculated pricing of quality spacers + custom bolts, within the same price range I was able to find wheels who would fit directly.

On the other hand, they are 7 years old tires that are shelved. So, I believe, I'll be spending hefty money for new tires in few days anyway.
I think I'll wait for some more time for AMG 18s..!

my friend with the s4 also bought them from 42dd directly. They made them for his car. Took a couple of days to make.
Mine are just for looks, but depends on spec of wheels and tires people use them to get more room for suspension or brakes clearance.

I found a local set of snow wheels and tires from a 2016 S4 and am thinking about grabbing them. I stumbled upon this thread and it seems the consensus is that they will in fact fit based on the bolt pattern and center bore. Do I have that right? I understand they might stick out a tad further based on the offset but I’m just trying to confirm that the center bore is compatible to my w212 E550 4matic. Thanks for any guidance

Your stock wheel offset is 48mm. Those rears look like it says 55. You may need spacers. I don't know if you have more than 7mm clearance between your tire and inboard things like shocks. What are the MB staggered rear wheel width? 9" or 9.5"? You might be pushing your luck with an extra 1"-1.5" for clearance inside and at the fender.

R8's were shipped with a wide range of wheel sizes, and most had staggered rims, with different sizes front and rear. Some were 57.1mm center bore, others had 57.1mm front, 66.5mm rear. and I'm just looking at 2015 (randomly)
on an 18" wheel on a W212, you would want 245/40R18 tires
edit, ah, you can't safely mount a 245/40R18XL wheel on a 10.5" wide rim, the allowable rim width range is 8-9.5, Mercedes uses the nominal 8.5", so a 10.5" rim will be 25mm wider on the inside AND the outside, that's way too much. Also, Mercedes have 66.6mm center holes, and those center holes are what center the rim on the wheel, your Audi wheels are either 57.1 or 66.5 per what I saw, neither would fit, and trying to rectify this would be totally unsafe.
