Buying a 2011 E350: Mechanic check showed some problems
I am looking to buy a 2011 E350 with 46,000 miles to replace my totaled 2005 E320. Had a mobile mechanic do a pre-purchase check report. The car is good in the engine, etc. He found a damaged bumper and grill, oil leaking from the transmission drain pipe, some passenger light blown and suggested that the dealer change the cabin filter (the car was owned by a smoker). The car is about $2000 below the KBB value and is otherwise okay. Would you purchase this car? I am getting an out the door price of $19,200. Thoughts?

You're never going to find a used car with almost 50k miles in pristine condition with zero issues. If the engine, tranny and mechanicals are in good shape, it's your desired color combination with most of the options you're looking for and ticks all the right boxes, I'd say go for it. These E Class models are great cars.

Out the door means all sales taxes, dealer fees, registration costs are included, right? If not, that is no great deal for an 8 year old car. |
FYI, there was a significant makeover for the 2012 MY
Better engine and tranny. More HP yet better gas mileage than the 2011. Also, more time between tranny services.

There are two many cars out there to get one with damage already. I'd move on.
