Give me your views on tires
I own a 2016 E 350 luxury model. I brought it used at Carmax, they put 4 brand new tires from the brand Ironman. I never heard of them. I always purchased Michelin on my prior 2000 S-430. Does anyone have any experience with Ironman. Any good recommendations on what to buy. I have only had the car a month and will likely stick with them for at least a year.

What's the exact tire name and size? It's basically a cheap no name tire. They're sold by an American company, but they could be made anywhere. Michelin's and Continentals are pretty popular. I have Michelin A/S 3+ on one car and Contiential PureContacts on the other although Continental DWS are pretty popular too in the snow belts.

2014 E550-sold 😩
Any tire named after a comic must be fantastic. Search tire threads on here and you will be able to come to a complete understanding that everyone has their favorite tire. No use in starting another thread to repeat the same banter.

I also have a much older one where people provided information. After studying for a year or so or I went with the NEW Continental PureContact LS. The LS versions just came out this June. Previous PC's are top rated by CR and others in latest tests. Tire Rack also rates them highly, but seems every time I go to their site, there are always new tires rated highest.
For me, the biggest concern is ride comfort and noise. Only put about 100 miles on them, but they are quieter and more comfortable than the Michellins that came with the car _Primacy MXV if I remember correctly.
Interesting note from CR, older tires may function same as low resistance tire due to the wear on the treads. So, new tires may initially have lower MPG than old tires.
See my thread on tires.

I have about a year old Michelin Pilot Sport A/W 3+. Driven probably over 20,000km and I don't seem to have a problem with them. Doing donuts in the snow was fun with them.

Have a friend whose wife just purchased a 2014 VW Eos convertible from CarMax. Has Ironman tires on it. Must be their go to brand for replacement tires.

It's basically a $65 tire. Some reviews on Amazon say they're horrible in the wet and snow. I wouldn't expect too much from a $65 tire. That's why they put it on, they're not going to spend $150-$200 on a Michelin.

Thanks, I see what you mean. I will be changing the tires in about a year. Currently, Currently, I am only driving my car on weekends so until I start driving it full time, I will live with the tires.
