Rattling noise when downshifting
Hey Guys,
i've noticed somekind of rattling noise coming from somewhere in the engine bay when the car downshifts just before a full stop.
I normally drive in comfort mode, so it would be the downshift towards the second gear (higher gears don't seem to have this problem. In S-mode, the car does the same thing though.
The car is a 2009 E200 CGI W212 Automatic transmission and the noise only seems to appear in the summer, haven't heard the sound all winter but last year's summer it was also present.
While coming down from 50/60km/h, couple of 100meters before a stoplight, the sound tends to appear at the last few meters before the full stop. At the lowest rpm within that range. It doesnt sound like metal on metal or something, more like an extra engine coming up for a few seconds and then shutting off again.
Does anyone here have had a similair problem with the car?
