2010 e550 airmatic air spring replacement
Hello
just wanted to share my experience about one of the air springs (front right )
long story short , when turning left on to my friends driveway i hear some scraping from my right side , parked the car and when i come out i hear that tssssssss (leaking air) sound from right side of the car , at first i thought i got a nail but listen closely i realized it was my suspension.
when i got home i imediatly started looking for a replacement , after spending sometime i found that original from MBZ dealer will be ~$1450 so i called my friends to see if they can help me find a used one or anything for a cheaper price..... exactly 2 weeks later i get my $500 spring (which was a used spring from a 2014 mbz CLS 550) , take it home , and attempted to change it in my garage , so 3 hrs later i got it installed. Everything fitted perfectly.
Now it was time to see if it also works right , so i start the car and boooooom... no errors or no leaking air. made my night because i finished around 11.30pm lol
i attached some pics for those who might find this thread interesting or that have or had similar air leaking issue so you guys can see what happened.
thank you for your time.
Luv airmatic , but dislike all these issues with it. pricey pricey

So you replaced the whole strut, not just the spring?

2014 E550-sold 😩
Nice job, but I would find out what is causing the wear at the bladder. You don't want to continue replacing struts.

yea the whole strut , its just different people call it differently. and that black thing that i hold down is just a rubber cover , actual spring is where the whole at.

can it be because my car is lowered with links? thats the only rational explanation i could think of.... or could it be bad roads with potholes? hopefully it wont happen again.

I did not know you had lowered your car, belarus27. It is possible that may be contributing to the wear spot. I don't imagine you can see the other side to see if it is about to go?

Hey guys,
does anybody know how to do this on an W213 with air body control(ABC)?
There is no menu point with "level calibration" just "niveau calibration"....
All softwares are available.
