Yes all OK
The text in my original post was obliterated when I added the photo above. The car was hit at 2AM at my house by a probable DUI who was not the registered owner. I do not know if the Tahoe he was driving was stolen.
I do have some questions if anyone cares to reply:
1. Car was in Park so the wheels never turned as the car was pushed 25 feet into my neighbors front yard. Is it likely the transmission is toast? Right rear wheel was turned toe in about 45 degrees. Is it possible to repair?
2. All sorts of small electrical and electronic bits and bobs were scattered over the site. Is it possible for a body shop to repair all of that stuff?
I do not particularly like the 2017+ 4 cylinder turbo E300 because of turbo issues. Does anyone have any experience with these newer models.

Sorry to see this. It's not really possible to guess at repair scope or quality - what it really needs is an inspection to see if the body or unibody chassis is tweaked. If the car was in park and pushed on grass the transmission may be ok but you would not know without a pan drop by someone who knows these transmissions/4matics.
Whether or not you want the car even if fixable is of course up to you. Corner hits like that can do strange things all the way to the opposite end of the car sometimes.

2008 E350 4Matic, 2011 E350 4matic
Why not just pick up a 2016 model? That would be the same E350 just before they went to the 4 cylinder. Then there are a couple of exotic ones out there like the 2014 E550, last year for that one or you could do the E400 in 2015+.
Looks like a good hit. It's probably totaled. Even if it's not, there may be frame damage and you basically don't want a car back that needs so much work.

2014 E550-sold 😩
Glad no one was in the car. It sure looks totaled based on that photo and your description. I would not want that car back and deal with the inevitable problems. I hope the driver had his license yanked.

Everything is possible to repair.. with enough money. The question now is does the repairs nearly equal or exceed the value of your car. Even if damages do not exceed actual value some insurance companies may do what's called a discretionary total loss and still total the vehicle.

Just got the word: Total. The insurance adjuster said that he stopped writing at $25K and that did not include the suspension and transmission. So now I start looking.

Sorry it happened ,great that no one was in the car!
I'd go with a 2016 E350 , My friend has a new E300 with the turbo 4 cylinder, it is not smooth or quiet like the 60 degree V-6...JMO

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can get something with the color and options you want. It's a lot easier to shop when you have a car to drive in the meantime than when you need one.
