Lowering Spring

Where can I find lowering springs for a w212 (E-550 4-Matic)?

Do you have Airmatic? If you have Airmatic, you can just throw some lowering links on it. I have a set I never used because mine is non-Airmatic.

If yours is like mine, none Airmatic, I put a set of Vogtland springs and I am VERY satisfied with the results. Some people prefer HR springs which I’m sure are fantastic too.

I ordered mine mine off of eBay for under $200 and installed them myself with help from a mechanic friend. Saved me like $300-400 in labor.

Cool, thanks for replying. I called around and H&R don't make them anymore so I will checkout Vogtland. Your cars looks great, love the stance. Thanks again

So ive had my springs for about 2 months now but have not put them on yet. What did you do to correct camber?

I just took it in for an alignment. The mechanic said that the camber & caster was within specifications.

I was really impressed with the ride quality. Not far off from stock. My E550 is riding on 30 section rubber bands but it’s not harsh, just firm without the floatiness. I live in PA where the roads are hit-or-miss. I’m sure anything less than a 70’s American land yacht will ride rough in NYC! Lol

No airmatic, and Vogtland only have lowering springs set to 1.6. That will work for the rear but It will be pushing the front. I was hoping for a 1.2 in the front.

I also read that if your E Class has the AMG Sport Package, it’s .5 inch lower that the standard suspension and you subtract that from Vogtlands 1.6 inch drop which gives you a 1.1 inch drop overall. I didn’t do any measuring but it seems to be correct. So 1.6 inch drop would be for for the standard non-AMG Sport W212’s.

Did you have any issues with clunking sounds in the fronts? I just installed H&R lowering springs and now I have clunking noise from the fronts.

Currently I haven’t experienced any clunking sounds or rubbing issues. I’ve probably put 500 miles on it since I installed the springs.

I wouldn’t want to try to tell you what that noise could be, could be a lot of things. I know it would drive me crazy!

Yeah when it was on stock springs i had no issues until I lowered the car. People I have talked to said it's most likely sway bar end links but im not 100% sure you know.
