Boredom and Side Markers

I had a little time on my hands so I decided to tone down the orange side markers. I've spent a lot of time on tail-light tint and trim/grille wrap, wheel powdercoating, but the markers have always bugged me a bit. I think $40 is too much for a couple of clear front markers and I had some tint so hence I progressed forward :) I know - you own an MB and get hung up on 40 bucks lol. But for me the white markers would stick out as much as the orange markers plus I already had the tint.

The rear tail lights are Vvivid light tint, they light up fine and no problems through 2 state inspections so far. I think it's excellent stuff and the easiest to apply/heat/stretch into position.

I used Orascom 3800 for the front markers. It's pretty dark but I don't really care, I like the look and I can zip the tint right off if needed for inspection. I'll say up front this isn't everybody's style so I'm just highlighting my preference in case it may be of interest.

Here are the original markers.

Markers with tint. I also used same tint on the upper part of the headlight to follow the hood curve. No interference with light, just accents the body line.

As you can see the light is still quite bright.

Overall, I try to keep the car with a gray/muted look. Not the best picture but maybe you get the idea.

Looks great Mud, well done. I remember back in the day when the W212's came out a bunch of us were getting LED plate lights, different side markers, sport grills etc.......those were the days :)

Thanks - I remember doing that stuff on other cars, wish I had those dollars back lol. But it was fun.

On my 2008 C300 and 2013 C-Coupe I tinted with Lamin-x and then wrapped with 3M 1080 Vinyl. The Vinyl was cool because it was color matched to the body, but still allowed the amber light to show thru.

That's a neat idea, didn't think about that. My trim/grille is wrapped in the 3M 1080, but it's not body color.

Where are you located? What color is your vehicle? I might have some to match Palladium I can send you.

I'm in Conroe TX but that's ok, very grateful for your kind offer. I'm good with the current tint on those markers, it blends surprisingly well in daylight. Trying to remember what gray color spec my car has, it's not palladium, but more steel gray metallic. Creaky memory this morning.
The 1080 trim wrap I used was brushed titanium, makes a nice subtle contrast with body color.
Thanks again.
