Thanks, AkaSigFreak. So it appears to still be removable. Good to know, since it is now evident that making duplicates of the male button are problematic. On closer examination, I now realize that this part telescopes within itself on an internal spring, so it's not a solid part.

This pretty much rules out casting a duplicate, or making a CF duplicate. So we're back to adding the red cover to the OEM button afterall.
