Difference Between W212 14 and 16
Hello Everyone, I am looking to upgrade from my 2009 E350 < I LOVE THIS MODEL < to a newer model. I really don't like the new E-Class, so I was wondering what is the difference between w212 14, 15, 16 Face-lift ..?
Please, enlight me with your knowledge Thank you in advance |
'16 has Folding Mirrors- '14/'15 do not.

my 15 has folding mirrors when you lock the door
|
I think the 14 has multi-disk cd which the 16 does not.

I don’t know of any differences other than auto folding mirrors for the 15, 16 model years, but I may be wrong. My 2014 has only manual folding mirrors, but I’ve never needed it folded anyway. |
What sold me on lifted model was classic clock on the center.
When exterior trims changed even in the same year, the clock really adds classic look IMHO |
2014: Comand NTG 4.5 Gen 3 (also known as 4.7)
2015: Comand NTG 4.5 Gen 3 (also known as 4.7) 2016: Comand NTG 5s1 (Apple Car Play equipped, in others it can be activated) Backup camera on 2016 is better, higher quality. |

My 2014 has single disc as well.

My 14 has folding mirrors as well 6 disk changer. In service date was June 14.

Folding mirrors are a feature on non-USA cars for the year 2014 right?
|
My car is MY 2013 however it is the facelift model (Japanese market) so I consider it 2014. I does have auto folding mirrors, NTG 4.7 and tons of other options (auto closing all windows and sunroof at the press of a button, no need to hold the button until everything closes). CD changer is single but it is also a DVD player. And I have VIM (Video in Motion). :-)
The biggest difference between 2015 and 2016 is the rear design, interior changes and the dashboard. Also engine options are different. The newer model has the all digital display, the COMAND is nicer and has much better connectivity to phones and the Internet. |

You're confusing the W212 and W213. the MY 2016 in NA (and most markets) is a W212, which is identical to a 2014 in every way except for the 2016 having a newer version of COMAND (NTG 5.1)
Just like in my case, the car was delivered on Jun 3, 2013 but it is the facelift model. Earlier cars of the same year were the pre-facelift models. . . . So, I just did a quick search on a used car website here in Japan and it seems I was right. Up to Jun 2016 cars were W212, from July they are W213. |

Hmm.. I thought the change to W213 was in 2016. so early cars may be w212s and later ones W213.

Uhh, not all markets refer to model years the same way. Your comment here is out of line.

Your car is sold as a 2014. MY 2017s were being produced by mid 2016, sold as 2017s. Congrats on being "Right" douchebag.

The 2018 E300's are four bangers with a turbo. Not possibly as smooth as a ,2014,2015 or 2016 with an opposed V-6 . Any mechanical engineer can explain why an opposed V engine kills its own vibration. Straight line four's and six's need all sorts of vibration damping technology.
For me if I was to replace my E-350 I'd go up to an E-400 (V-6) for the very reason of smooth and quiet. |

Any mechanical engineer worth his salt will tell you that an inline six is inherently balanced and v6's aren't
